His post are usually 99% delusional, but I guess there's a 1% chance he is being sarcastic

Actually, Auburn had offered him and promised him a shot at QB, hence the player playing out of position. Bishop started thinking his best position to make it to the NFL would be DB, so he started looking around. I don't know if Auburn just didn't want him as a DB, or what the deal was there. Maybe, Bishop felt he could not get PT at Auburn as quickly as he could somewhere else.

I short, I think he was saying he would rather have a 3* FB than a DB that is playing QB.

Nick Marshall did a pretty damn good job for them...

If Cleveland had potential to even be "good" why didn't he play? Not a rip on him, honest question about a very very questionable OLine during the entire season.

Because he's not as good as Wynn, Gaillard, or Sims at this point.

I do think it's early to be declaring him as some all-conference guy.

Still, if he develops into a 1st round guard, he won't be here for 5 years.

True. We didn't exactly have a ton of opportunities for garbage time reps, though.

Very good point. We tend to overlook the "garbage time", but it allows our inexperience guys to get reps. It absolutely affects the future because positions will open up and it helps to have live game experience.

Because he has no clue how to play the position right now. Any position along the OL is not a plug-and-play position for someone who has never played there, and Cleveland has never really played OL. He would have been absolutely destroyed if we had put him out there. Like I said, he has the physical tools to be great but people who have never played along the OL have no idea how much work you have to put in to master the craft of being an offensive lineman. For some guys it never takes because, quite honestly, they don't have the mental capabilities to handle it or they don't have the feet for it. That's why I said this off-season is so critical for Ben. He's either going to learn it or he isn't and if he can't then guys like Netori and Kindley will pass him because they know how to play the position.

Honest question. If he played defense his whole high school career, why wasn't he recruited as a defensive lineman?

Because coaches saw the great potential in him given a year or two of coaching at OL...

Because he projects better at OL

All about potential with a lot of HS prospects. Hardman had never played a down at DB but he's a corner for us now. Cleveland could always switch over to DL if he doesn't make it on the OL, I suppose, but his upside is highest along the OL. Measurables don't tell the whole story but they can help tell you at where a player projects best.

[quote]he has very quick feet for a guy his size. [/quote

This is where our Intel differs.
That being said I'm really pulling for Ben, his enthusiasm is infectious. He's definitely our MVTW (most valuable towel waver). The big guy stands on that bench and never stops.
