Elite safety feels UGA is ‘a great place to be’ after visit...

quote:

Peachtree Ridge rising senior Nigel Warrior took an unofficial visit to UGA on Sunday. Warrior brought his mother along and said the six-hour visit went pretty fast, was amazing and there wasn’t one boring thing.

The highlights? He told the AJC via text message “UGA is a great place to be” and the chances of him signing with the program have increased because of how he felt in Athens on Sunday. One of his favorite parts of the day was getting to hang with some current UGA players that he grew up playing against.

He valued what current Bulldogs Jayson Stanley and Deandre Walker had to say about their experiences with the program. He also said that he can now see himself in the red and black next fall.

“They said it is a great school to come to and the grind never stops,” Warrior told the AJC. “They get better everyday.”

Its important to note Warrior’s teammate Chad Clay is already committed to UGA for this year’s signing class. Deangelo Gibbs — another member of the Peachtree Ridge secondary — is a rising junior who could wind up being ranked as the top player in the country next year. He is also very interested in UGA.
quote:

Warrior is the son of longtime NFL veteran and Tennessee great Dale Carter. The four-star from Suwanee is rated as the No. 4 safety in the country for the 2016 signing class by the 247sports composite rating.

So, Isaac Nauta visited us again over the weekend and has us as #2 behind FSU.

quote:

“Georgia grows on me all the time,” Nauta said. “One because it would be super easy for my family to go to a game and I have got a lot of friends in Georgia. That’s one reason why it is always climbing for me. But just to be able to sit and talk to Coach Richt on a Sunday when he is normally not there was just great for me yesterday. Just to do that on a Sunday when he is normally not there. That was real cool of him to come out and spend some time with a guy like me.”

quote:

“He made a comment to Mom a little bit ago,” his father Jay Nauta said. “My wife tends to think that he will flip, but I don’t know.”

FYI, JHD has been contacting coaches and keeping tabs on Dawgnight attendees. Says that right now we are looking at having a double digit number of 5 star players in attendance. Appears to be the most talent heavy event yet and we've had some pretty big ones before.

Damn...Sentell/Emerson & even Carvell at AJC bringing the nuggets the last few weeks. Must have new headline writers too. Good stuff on Warrior, Nauta etc... Plus the Roquan, Eason & Madden type articles they've been doing... Becoming a solid site for info & news...

... Don't know where the attitude change is coming from. I think Chip & Carvell were getting a lil' too comfortable & mailing a lotta shite in. The hires of Seth & Jeff seems to have sent them a message...

I have no idea about Carvell (I like to think the AJC wasn't appreciating all the bad blood between him and the UGA fans, but I know that's just wishful thinking) but I get the feeling Chip may be moving close to retirement. He's been on the UGA beat for forever.

I like the dude but I take pretty much everything he says with a grain of salt.

His prognostications are pretty hit and miss (as are most folks) but he does seem to have some contacts regarding visits and who is on campus and when. He typically manages to beat out the major sites with visitor lists and announcing commitments

To have him recruiting at the opening and a few weeks later at Dawg night is huge. GATA Eason
