Some of these kids just weren't coming to uga. Not sure a month would have made much of a difference.

Dude it's a top 10 class for a new coach. Chill. Look how the new coach is doing at The U.

I know I should be overjoyed with this class and maybe tomorrow I will be; we filled a lot of needs and just quite frankly got better with this group. But frick am I salty about losing Price and Brown. I want this state locked the frick down in 2017 and I want our rivals to starve because of it.

I had already mentally checked out of D.Brown just given how things have been going. The easy choice was UGA, given that he struggled with it so much it was pretty clear he was looking for reasons to go elsewhere. Price is the one that hurts the most, simply because we need OT so much more.

To go to the Christmas analogy for NSD: D.Brown was the toy you show off to your friends, Price would have been the practical gift that you started using from the second you got it.

I know we were light on time, but frick I feel like we needed to land one of these additional late OL adds to have a special class. Could obviously have been worse, but the 2017 class just got mission critical.

I'm glad all this Derrick Brown crap is over. He has acted like a child since Smart took over because he wasn't the first recruit pampered by the new coach. Have fun losing, see ya!

That's really one of the most tired arguments of the last two months. Kirby worked his arse off, and recruited for UGA every day he was allowed to make contact with the recruits.

Exactly. People can frick off with that noise. If, the day Richt was canned, you told me our NSD would look like this:

Tyrique McGhee
Chauncey Manac
Chris Barnes
Marshall Long
Charlie Woerner
Javon Wims
Mecole Hardman
Michail Carter
Solomon Kindley
Elijah Holyfield
Tyler Simmons
Tyler Clark
David Marshall

With shots remaining at:

Jaleel Laguins (possibly)
Demetris Robertson

I would have said "SOLD" immediately and anyone who says they wouldn't have said the same is an imbecile.

EDIT: Meant to say as well, NOT INCLUDING our early enroll guys who are fricking solid. Seriously, some people.

I'm happy with this class. But this was a year of the ages for recruits in the state of GA. For us to miss on Derrick Brown, EJ Price, Kyle Davis, and a bunch of other guys hurts.

Agreed. And of course it would also be the year we finally decide to make a coaching change

Lol no. The state of Georgia has elite talent every single year.

Any news on Akeerm Byrd? Assuming we didn't send out a late offer?

Looking at the standings, if we land Robertson, we can still finish top 5.

I don't feel like it was really. The state is just pumping out more talent going forward. 2017 looks like a phenomenal class, too early to tell on 18 I'd say.

Kyle Davis never seemed to give UGA much thought so don't really worry too much there, as nice as it would have been to get him, he just never seemed interested. D. Brown, while a solid talent, would have been in a somewhat crowded spot... who knows if he lives up to his stars. Under Garner at AU, good chance he doesn't. Price hurts, but maybe Pittman can work some miracles with the guys on campus to string together something piecemeal for 16 and then hit the trails hard for 17. We need like 5-7 OL next year realistically, so they better have some thoughts, and hopefully some guys who will EE.

I will say that I'd rather Derrick Brown at Auburn rather than anywhere else. They are never able to do much with their defense.
