9 seasons better than 2011 or 2015:
- 1983, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003
1983-1990 and 1996-2003 were strong time periods, while 81/82 + 91-95 involved 5 postseason invites.
Point is, we had a very respectable program up until we kicked Tony Cole off the team and he went to Dick Schaap's kid. Hopefully we can get back to that type of respect.

We had probation in 85 and whenever Harrick slimed us... We have had a few brushes with the elite and some good seasons, but we never seemed to sustain and when we made the dance, we never seemed to go much past the first game.
The things that stands out the most to me is we have not gotten better than the 83 team while the city of Atlanta exploded with basket ball talent. It's not like football where we at least get our share... Overall, we get one elite one every 3 years... That's why we are not where we should be. I don't know why we can't get them.

Just looking at last night's scores...man NMSU lost a squeaker to st mary's. Really wanted that upset not just to give us an easier 2nd round game (if we win obv) but so we'd host again. Rats.
Oh well. Let's take care of business tonight.
eta: holy shite just saw the highlights. NMSU tied it up with 2 seconds left. SM inbounds and some goober fouled SM on the inbound. 2 free throws and game over.

NMSU blew it big time down the stretch, I was screaming watching that one. Would have been great playing another home game. St. Mary's would be a real tough place to fly out to and get a win if we get this one.

Officiating has been truly pathetic tonight. Called lot of phantom fouls. Kenny Gaines with a monster block, clearly out on them but the official give it back to them. They hit a 3 on the inbound. That was awful.

Well this could be a huge move for this program; big game against a quality opponent on the road. Win and we could potentially host FSU or fave a 1 seed in Valpo for a spot in MSG. Let's see what we have left in the tank
