Surprised it isn't a little higher. I just can't find a way to convince myself that this is a winnable game. Our 3rd straight game, afternoon after a late night game, crowd will be 90% blue, UK playing great lately.
Hope we hang around, give ourselves a shot late somehow.

Only thing would be that Auburn somehow managed to do it....but unless Ullis is out, I see UK beating our Dawgs by 15. Hope we hang around and JJ can get a chance, but don't see it happening. Good Luck. Go Dawgs!

This game is a long shot as a win for us. Whenever I think something is impossible (like anything in life, not just sports), I remember how we won the 2008 SEC tournament.

Agreed. The Mrs. had friends in town last night and couldn't watch live so stayed off the rant and my phone all night and watched the replay this morning.
That first half was just miserable basketball for most of it. Just thankful that SC played poorly as well. Second half had some good runs there to keep getting it close, but what a finish by JJ in the game, just continually making magic out of nowhere. That last cut to the basket to get free of the trap and the steal... damn.

It brings me untold amounts of happiness to know that we get JJ back next year along with Maten and older/wiser play out of Ogbeide and Edwards.
If Turtle Jackson or one of the freshmen can come in and be a legit threat on the perimeter like Gaines can be, we're going to be dangerous

I go back and forth on my thoughts replacing Mann with turtle.
Mann will make abotu 10 mindnumbingly retarded decisions in a game (as a senior!) and I think I hope I never see him on the floor again. But..despite his faults he does do a few things well. Turtle, despite his natural talent, just hasn't played. I mean what, he probably had like less than 30 total mintues all season it feels like. There's definitely gonna be a learning curve to start next year. I'm also hopeful that crump can come in and provide the shooting at the 2 that we need.

What's been completely overlooked from last night is Wilridge getting some surprising minutes and knocking down a big corner 3.
Obviously every basket counts in a 1 point game but that one was big. Especially considering the guy very rarely plays and was probably pretty cold at that point.

Coached Turtle in HS, he is in incredibly hard working kid who will be much improved next year. Won't just step right in and replace Mann equally but will be a good contributor along with Harris and Crump. Think he makes a big jump next year. We need those freshmen guards cause we will need perimeter scoring next season.
Could be a load inside with Maten, Edwards and Ogbeide. JJ and Yante will be legit, 1st team all SEC level players.

Team looks confident and dialed in, everyone contributing. Problem is UK is really good and that crowd will wear on us (and the refs). Need to make big plays when they go on runs.

Haha. 61% shooting and 50% behind the arch and only up 5....geeez. That's crazy. Hope we continue to sub like we are and playing hard every second.
