what the hell can we do to keep these guys in state? I'm sick of seeing other teams fans saying how they gouge our state for recruits

This doesn't actually mean anything. It's not like UGA's staff is going to see this and be like "oh, rats, I guess we have to give up now"

Remind them that some of our best players are from out of state. Stafford, Murray, Green, Gurley, Marshall, etc...
We do well in state (we'll get the best player in the state two years in a row) and we do well in others.

I don't understand why people care so much about where recruits are from. I worry about missing on certain players, not a certain % of the top 15 in-state players.
If we "miss" on a top player in Georgia, but sign a better guy at that position from OOS, how is that a bad thing? There are in-state players that I don't like missing on, but it has nothing to do with "locking down the state."

It's not possible to take all of the best kids in the state, AND fill our needs as dictated by the schemes on both side of the ball. Folks don't seem to understand that.

Georgia is surrounded by other top programs, I'd venture to say that no coach in the country can come in and lock these borders. Half of South Ga. kids grow up FSU fans, Half of West Ga. kids grow up AU fans, and of course now you see bama fans all over the place now. No other state with the amount of top talent that we have has to deal with the competition
that UGA does.
that UGA does.

Florida, Texas, and California all disagree.

Well, to be fair, we have more National Champs on our border than any of those states.

That's true. And that kind of adds to my argument that if uga could at least win a conference title it would make it a little easier to recruit against our competition. You know alot of these schools are using the old "Georgia can't win championships" pitch to their advantage.

And top talent from each of those states dont go to 1 school either

That wasn't what I was saying. Dude said that no other state faces the competition that UGA does and I simply said that the schools in those states do.

And sadly they're dead on. Like, the lack of titles isn't just an ammo but a damning assessment of the program and staff.
