He just sounds like he wants to go elsewhere. In his interview he said, "I want blaze my own trail, do my own thing." Makes me think he has his heart set own leaving the state. Like I said I hope I'm wrong.

I agree. If it really came down to UCLA and UGA, and this thing with the coordinator was enough to push him away from the Bruins, then I don't see why he wouldn't have pulled the trigger for the good guys unless his heart was set on going elsewhere. There's really nothing Richt or anyone can do about it if that's the case and I wouldn't call it an "embarrassment". It just is what it is.

I don't think UCLA has actually come clean about that coach leaving yet.
Smith told Rivals this afternoon that his heart said UGA, but his head said UCLA.
