After the UT comeback in the bottom of the ninth we are eliminated from postseason play.

Damn shame, would've been nice for some of the young guys to get some experience playing in the tournament.

As far as offseason stuff goes, quite a few guys will be having some surgeries and rehab stuff over the summer (a lot of it are injuries they've been playing through since SEC play started) and I've heard of a few guys who may be transferring due to Stricklin and how he runs things.

He's not exactly well liked or respected much by a decent portion of the team.

To be fair, the team hasnt done much these past 6 years to make them well liked or respected. Glass houses and all that.

As for Daeley, dude was probably pulling the same recruiting schtick most coaches do and it obviously backfired big when he sent it to folks that were willing to put it out there. Still, he may be out of a job after this. Hard to recruit guys wanting to make it to the bigs when youve damaged the programs rep with said bigs.

And as to whether or not Stricklin has been a bad hire, I disagree but he hasnt been the homerun we were hoping for. If he keeps running guys off and cant pull in a top flight class this go round, we will likely be looking at only a slightly improved season next year. He needs to make a regional in year 3 or GTFO

Why? For forwarding information about what people on the team think?

True, and I'm sure winning games would change some of their feelings about him pretty quickly.

Maybe I soumd like a homer with unrealistic expectations, but there's no reason a coach should have a losing record at UGA.

Are those players who don't like him Pernod holdovers? And as far as not liking him I don't really care. When you have a large group of people not everyone is going to like the boss.

Do you know how bad our team was before he got here?

5 years removed from a NCAA championship game and only 1 missed tournament.....doesn't seem like we are going in the right direction.....

Even with the injuries, our recruiting has gotten even worse and we can't even finish outside bottom 2 in the SEC. Sorry, inexcusable in baseball.

Obviously we won't so shut this offseason with him, but hope we fire him if we don't make regionals next year. A sad program is getting even worse

Not true. Anyone that has bothered to watch this team under Stricklin can see obvious improvement over Pernos last 3 squads. Team is moving I. The right direction but relative to the rest of a very strong conference, it's not moving quick enough given the program's history and resources. So while, yes, it's regional or bust next season, it's not because the team has gotten worse. It just isn't getting better at a quick enough rate.

A lot changed in those five years. That championship game doesn't reflect how bad Perno left the team.

The team Perno left behind was absolute shite. We've improved under Stricklin but this season was wrought with injury; we lost our Friday and Saturday starters early on in the season, no team could survive that without a pretty major dip. This next two seasons will be the deciding ones as to whether Stricklin sticks around or not.

Agreed that Perno wasn't getting it done at the end either. However, his last 2 years were riddled with injuries as well. He also had a few awesome recruits elect to go pro.

Also, this ain't football...2 full recruiting seasons of players playing, should produce results quicker.....Mr. TiestoEastCobb hasn't done shite this far....Missing the SEC tournament, even with our injuries is fricking ridiculous

We also got some of those injured back toward the end of the season and that didn't so shite. Don't give me lost motivation either. This ain't football....we needed 1 extra win all sec schedule not to finish in the bottom 2 and we couldn't, even with some guys back. Stricklin has lost my confidence.
