It's be great to land Marshall, but I feeling that us and Ole Miss are just hats on the table.

Maybe all of our recruits at the opening can sway him, though...but I doubt it.

Jeff Barlis via ESPN about Raekwon McMillan:
quote:

"McMillan on Saturday reiterated his top five schools in no particular order -- Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia and Florida. And while the Buckeyes have been McMillan's longtime leader, Florida could be making a move up, considering the back-to-back weekend visits."

Per espn:

Chubb moved up into the Espn 150. Russell and Jacob Park now in Espn 300. Looks like Glass just missed cutoff for Espn 300.

Interesting quote from SCjr commit Arden Key...

When talking about his decision to become a Gamecock, Key had this to say:... “The academic part, it’s like you have to try to fail.... I love the coaches. They are always ready for something. And it isn’t far from home. It gives you a different environment. It’s in the city, but it’s also in the country.”...

in 2012 the population is 784,745. It is the second-largest metropolitan statistical area in the state of South Carolina... I guess he thinks it's like Doraville... "Ga. country in the city"

FWIW, just to clear up the Park and Cornwell debate from last week because we all know Bama never misses their top target. This was posted this afternoon

quote:

Kipp Adams (ESPN)

What I was told is that Richt told Jacob Park that after Watson he was the only QB UGA wanted and Alabama told him they were going to take 2 QBs, which Park did not care for. If Alabama was only taking 1, Park would likely be committed to Alabama and Cornwell would be going elsewhere, leaving UGA without a QB in this class. After Alabama found out Park preferred to be the only QB commit at UGA instead of 1 of 2 at Alabama, they took Cornwell.

When defensive end recruit Arden Key (2015) made his commitment, he said "The academic part, it's like you have to try to fail" as one of the main reasons he selected South Carolina. The key reason he selected South Carolina was the coaching staff....but then went on to the academic part noting their ability to create an easy road for athletes

Props for honesty

Hold up there, Porter. Nobody said he got his 5th star; just that he rose up in the rankings. Once he gets that 5th star-then he could be considered an Bama lean.

Sims has offers pouring in right now. UGA still leads, but he's probably going to slow things down and look at all his options.

I get the feeling Sims might be a high 4* kid by the time NSD roles around. His frame is elite and he should have a big senior year at Lowndes.

Even if he doesn't get bumped up anymore, many of the top college programs in the southeast think this kid is good enough to warrant a scholarship and that tells me all I need to know. You don't get the kind of offers that Sims has been reeling in without being extremely talented.
