John Atkins just said he has qualified and is on his way to Athens.

Saw a shite load of players at oreintation today. Rankin, Bynum, Wilkerson, Mayes, Rumph and a couple of other guys that I didnt know. They called out Floyd, Atkins and Mustafa but they were not there.

Atkins getting in early is another big event for UGA. Even if Geathers leaves, we'll have 3 NG's practicing in the spring.

Said it before, but if he doesn't want to compete then I'll wish him luck where ever he ends up but I can't say I'll be sad to see him go. South Carolina is deeper than we are at Corner and he'll see more PT in Athens than Columbia, at least early on. USC returns Legree, Hampton, Elder, McWilliams, Gurley, and Christian at CB...we only return 3.
But hey, it's his choice to make and he should do what he feels like is right.

I say put the full court press on Mac Alexander anyway. It may be a long shot, but with John Atkins enrolling early now, it should free up a spot for February; so offer Alexander's brother and get the package deal to Athens.
BTW Shaq also said that he thinks Rueben Foster is down to just UGA or Auburn.
