Wait until you see what he got from Auburn before you call us cheap. From the sounds of it he might have been looking for a way out w/ his relationship with Grantham and his desire to coach a 4 man line

As Kipp Adams from ESPN already pointed out, Garner DID NOT want to offer Carl Lawson. Apparently other coaches liked his game, but Garner refused to send an offer out. I have no real details, but I would love to be on the phone when he calls Carl to sell (no pun intended) Auburn.

He didn't even a coach a 4 man line under BVG and Willie; all he coached were DT's. We were paying him about $300k/year, which is a lot for a position coach.
Go get Travis Jones from the Saints and then we can really tout NFL coaching on our D.

WTF is wrong with John Lilly- 2014 TE Jeb Blazevich would be a HUGE get for us. The kid obviously is high on Georgia, but they're about to eff it all up.
Blazevich said he had not heard from the Bulldogs as much as the other programs on his list.
“I got an email from Coach Lilly two days ago, and before that, it had been a while,” Blazevich said. “They actually scared me for a while. I went to see a game there and honestly haven’t heard from them too much. Every school has been by -- a lot schools twice and some three times -- and Georgia hasn’t been by yet. They haven’t been recruiting me as hard as all these other schools.”

I think we might have Milan Richard higher on our board and I'm not sure we have room for 2 TE's next year.

Is Richard our future at TE? Blazevich is a monster.

Richard is 6'3" 235 lb TE out of Savannah. Son of two All-American track athletes from UGA and the nephew of Herschel Walker. Consensus 4-star athlete. Not ranked far behind Jeb.

never liked garner much anyway, that fricker has been gouging georgia for years and his DLs have never been that well coached up. sucks we lost our shadiest inner city recruiter though. but we can find a new bag man, a better bag man.
i mean i'd be excited about new coach shopping but richt and the bargain bin boys of the AD don't leave much room for excitement. so what's the expected damage with garner jumping ship?

Hurts our standing with Adams, might hurt our standing with Wiggins...but overall it could be worse.

Per Kipp Adams, Todd Grantham has been flooded with calls from both NFL DL coaches as well as BCS level DL coaches regarding the open position on his defensive staff.
Fellas, TG will have his pick of the litter on this hire and it will be a good one.

Anyone know the update with M. Adams on 247?
Posted on 12/21/12 at 4:07 pm to dawg4lyfe
“I’m kind of surprised, but it helps Auburn,” Adams told A NEWS OUTLET. “We have a great relationship. He’s a great guy. I know that he’s a guy that will get defensive linemen to the league.
"I wouldn’t mind him being a guy that coaches me for three or four years. He’s going to be a guy that I’m going to be with most of the time besides the weight-training guy.”

Rivals article quoted Adams saying it doesn't hurt us, just helps Auburn. I think if we hire a stout replacement will be ok with Adams. UGA will be his second to last offficial visit.

Do not want. Dude cried like a B when UGA wouldn't offer his son. All he had to do is bring him down here and they probably would have offered on the spot. I'll take Rocker over him any day of the week.
