Exactly. Knowing Garner's history though, he could be just positioning himself for another raise from McGarity.

By the way, Johnathon Rumph has not signed his LOI as of yet. However his JUCO coach says he will sign and send it in later today.

As you type that, 247 is saying that Garner is in play for a job at Auburn.

meh... Garner pulls this shite every other year...He was supposedly gone when Chiz came to Aub., He flew to Knoxville on the UT plane & was supposedly gone when Kiffen was hired, Tubbs tried to get him in '05, everybody said he was gone... etc...etc...

He's lookin' for another raise IMO, he has no ties to Gus or anyone on that new staff...

that's all you need to know. He does this damn near every year. He's got a great situation at UGA, so unless Auburn doubles what we pay him I don't see why he'd want to go to that sinking ship of a program that is constantly mired in NCAA investigations.

Jaime Newburg was just on Chuck and Chernoff. Didn't really tell us anything people who regularly follow recruiting already know but he did seen to love AJ Turman. He doesn't get a lot of hype because there are some great backs in Fl but Newburg thinks that Turman will be a player in the sec by the time he leaves.

More mind numbing bullshite from Carvell. Seriously how is this guy still employed? You'd think since the AJC is hemorrhaging $$ they could cut the waste.

Logic, yall. If they were offering Garner the DC position, you could worry. But Mrs. garner isn't about to uproot for bumfrick Opelika and Rodney isn't about to take a step down to a rebuilding program from one where he is at the top level and where the AD is stacked with cash.

Unless McGarity tells him to frick off, I would be shocked if Garner left.

And besides; Auburn has already offered every alumnus of the school a job on the new staff. Whats one more turn down.

Barn offering Garner was mandatory to try to stem the flood of recruits abandoning ship.

UGA pays the man $275k/yr plus heavy incentives. I just cannot see Garner going to AU for a lateral move when he already has a great salary on a stable staff, and not to mention star recruits lined up to play DL for him. The only reason to leave is because it is his alma mater, which truthfully doesn't mean a hill of beans anymore.

I'd be okay if he left, but it would make me nervous if he went to an SEC school and they let him be the "bagman" again. Now if they hire him as a DC somewhere I'd imagine he'd last as long a Kevin Ramsey did at UGA

I doubt money was the deciding factor.

Well then you make it the deciding factor. This just pisses me off. He turned down Auburn before, so something changed.
