This is what happens when Trump closed the DEI door behind Cooper Dejean

Maybe now all of the "we just weren't as talented this season" people can just admit that we weren't as well-coached this season.

Kirby could go 7-5 this year and I still wouldn't trade Kirby for any other coach in the country, but the program has leaks and Kirby needs to fix the leaks.

WTF did he do to deserve it?

He would’ve had an invite if he’d gone to the draft last year from Stanford.

We could have feasibly went 7-5 (UK, GT, UF w/Lag).
Same sentiments here about Kirby.

Jared Wilson is Mel Kiper's number 1 center. Fairchild is the 6th ranked guard and Ratledge is the 8th ranked guard. Truss is like 25 years old and was invited to the combine. We had the 15th ranked running game in the SEC and got our quarterbacks killed.

It's just bizarre.

Let the record show that we have a RB and 4 OLs at the combine and finished outside the top 100 in rushing.

Also have two WRs invited and led the nation in drops.

we also weren't nearly as talented as 2021-2023. Also I think it's funny you use an invitation to exercise as the arbiter of talent rather than actaully seeing how good someone is or where they are drafted. Like xavier truss being invited here doesn't mean he's as good or talented of a player as amarius mims.

The starters we had in 21/22 were better than in 2024 almost across the entire board.

I hear you and agree but the comparison of Truss to Mims doesn’t work. Everyone knew Mims was a 1st rounder his Fr. year while Truss has spent 6 years rotating on and off the starting line and will be lucky to go round 5.

I’m not sure why we have to have 2021/22 level talent to run the ball competently. UMass seemed to do it well enough.

On the surface this suggests coaching issues but it will be interesting to see how well these guys perform in the combine and where they end up being drafted.
Translation: I'm ignorant of the standard aka how good a player has to be to be invited to the combine.
For instance I can see a fast receiver like Arian Smith being invited in spite of the drops because scouts might see potential that could be enhanced with better coaching.

Agree but, I wouldn't be hurt if there was a bit more change than that.

The NFL Combine is something that is objective and something we can measure.

"Talent" and "better" is completely subjective and it's all in the eye of the beholder. You can correct people and be a know-it-all on here all day long, but at the end of the day you're just being completely subjective. Unless you're frigging Gil Brandt Jr. or something and you're some master talent evaluator and not just some random dork on the internet who doesn't get enough credit for being a genius.

Carson Beck will be drafted way before Stetson Bennett one day. But that doesn't that mean that Carson Beck was better than Stetson Bennett for Georgia. It means that that Bennett had Todd Monken and a better coached O-line.

"Potential" would probably work way better than "talent."

Potential = Experience (number of snaps in college) + NFL pedigree

This topic moving forward, we should probably just throw the word talent in the god dam trash can smh.

A great example is that TAMU defensive end that has 1.5 sacks per year being projected in the first round. He’s tall and weighs 281 let’s draft him right…..
