It's a term of endearment.
The thing about that incident that pisses me off the most is the very same situation happened my sophomore year when our company's zips were ODs. And yer damn right the SMU cheerleaders knew exactly what they were doing - trying to start shite. Our CO walked out onto the field and calmly explained to the cheerleaders that they couldn't be there. And they left. The end. No swordplay, no shoving pussy cheerleaders to the ground, no kicking same cheerleader when he was down like a frickin' Nazi, none of that. And this dingbat a few years later provided video evidence of everything that's wrong with the Corps. I've no idea where he is or what he's doing but I sincerely hope somebody gives him shite about it every day.

He was expelled literally the day after this happened. I doubt a day goes by he doesn't regret it. Someone like him should not be in the corps.

In all seriousness, I can not even wrap my mind around that whole incident. SMU guy (if you want to call him that) got to close to Reveille and the Toy Soldier pulls the sabre. Then the cop comes and blast a 3rd SMU guy after a second takes the Toy Soldier down. The sad part is people defend both sides, and both were wrong.
But it is good stuff to make fun of.

Meh, if you watch the full episode you see that the smu guys were the aggressors 100% but the corp kid should have NEVER pulled out the sword and deserved to be knocked down after doing so.
