Could I even scalp or do they require student IDs? The way SC did it was that you claimed a ticket, printed out the ticket, and it was scanned in at the gate, all anyone needed was a student ID. It didn't matter if that student was the one who claimed the ticket or not. Now they do it where they actually put the ticket on the ID itself.

Trust me. I will enjoy A&M. I've only been to campus once and that was for the interview. I got accepted into other schools but I knew after that visit that I would choose A&M if I got accepted. I did get accepted and I chose A&M and it wasn't for the football. The fact that they are big on football and in the SEC are just a huge bonus.

I've seen SEC football before boys

but I've got a team and there is no need for me to spend money on someone that I have no rooting interest for one way or another

I'll translate WCA's post for you. You can only be part of this cult in two ways: as a participant or as the sacrifice. Make your pick.

Okay let's say you were born and raised an Aggie fan, finally got to attend A&M when you were old enough, got your Aggie ring, but then decided you needed to go to a graduate program that wasn't A&M, and you go to a different school and have never had any interest in their athletics.. do you really think you're going to start rooting for that 2nd team as if it's your own?
eta: Truth be told as committed and "cultish" (and proud of it) as lifelong Aggies seem to be I am actually surprised that you guys expect an outsider to adopt A&M.
I figured it'd be more, "yeah grad school, but not a real Aggie"

Happy to take donations.

I was raised a fan of Houston sports. The Texans are my fav team i the NFL. I married into a Eagles family. I happily root for Philly as my number 2. Its not the same, but its still fun.
If I did grad school at UGA or UF. I would def catch as many games as I could that didn't cut into my Aggie FB watching. I assume the firends I'd make at said school would want to go to these games. A day of tailgating and watching the home team is a blast.

this is just something we are not going to agree on

My post wasn't about becoming an Aggie, it was about being a sports fan. Not sure why you have to have a rooting interest to enjoy a college football game, but that's just me.
Although if you've never been to a non-SC game, maybe it's difficult to appreciate the fun of visiting different stadiums and taking in different game atmospheres.

I love watching other games, I watch them all day every Saturday. And I do love seeing different venues and atmospheres, I've been to several.

I went to a game at Jordan-Hare when I was at the Career Course (2004 season). I went to the Colorado-Colorado State game when I was stationed at Fort Carson (2002 season) and I'm taking my niece and her two brothers to the Washington-Stanford game this fall.

Well this turned into something I didn't anticipate.

Do what makes you happy but as others have said this isn't even about being an Aggie fan, just a college football/sports fan. It isn't often you can get prime seating at a major venue for half price, hell the Student Side renovation will even be done. Also, as mentioned most of your friends you meet will likely go to the games as it is the primary focus of the Fall from a social perspective. The LSU game alone is going to be absolutely worth the season pass.
I'd do the same at just about any SEC school. I get that we have a pretty blah home schedule this year but those games are still a lot of fun. I know if I went to USC I for Grad school I wouldn't want to just sit at home during football games if I could go sit in prime seats for half price.
Do what you want though.
