We can be in the SEC without being like the SEC.

Ags, that was a tough way to lose this weekend. Should Spav be fired and should Kyler start, etc.? Probably and maybe.

But, let's don't forget Nick Saban was right. And, the rest of the country knows it as well. Texas A&M has an impressive and special fanbase. Saban said he thought Bama fans should be more like us. He certainly thinks LSU fans have a long way to go from being like us. But, we shouldn't change as fans.

We carry ourselves with dignity. That's what I love most about Texas A&M.

Look, we're not THAT special. Aggieland is a special place, but as a fanbase, we're not that much different from CFB fanbases in general.

We're an oddity in the SEC because we're still relatively new and we're mostly from Texas, and we value hospitality to our guests. The latter is something I'm very proud of.

But we're not so outlandishly different on the whole, really. Yeah, we should always strive to carry ourselves with dignity, but we' have just as many knuckle heads as fans/alums of other schools.

Saban was simply sucking our dicks to make their win seem better than it was. Really not that hard to win at Kyle Field these days.

I think you are very much an SEC style fanbase with a true passion for your school. But you do have a more polite and hospitable gameday atmosphere. I think its because you have such a large alumni that a majority of your fans at games actually attended aTm. That can't be said for many of the lunatic fanbases around the SEC. My 11 year old son remarked last year that everyone is so nice tailgating.

I've heard on more than one occasion how classy our fans are with opposing fans when they're at Kyle. I think that's what Chill meant and I agree. Not booing the opposing team is classy. I worry the younger Ags don't feel the same though. I hope I'm wrong.

We have a unique opportunity to cotinue distinguishing our program by staying behind the team and staying loud at Kyle. Let heads roll at the end of the season, but let Kyle remain the best. Forever!

I am so fricking sick and tired of hearing how special we are. Auburn is special to the folks that went there. Same for LSU, Florida, Miss State, etc.

We need to fricking match the expectations of this program with achievement, or just accept that we suck and always will. Then we can be like South Carolina and just enjoy being in the SEC.

Unfortunately it takes a LONG time to be accepted by the original ten.

We joined the SEC in 1990 and just started becoming "accepted" when Spurrier turned things around. We still get the "should've brought in Clemson instead" thing and it's mainly just to troll...just like they do to y'all with the Texas comments. SEC fans are a fickle bunch...to put it mildly.

Dear God...I'm having to remind myself I'm on y'alls board to refrain from saying what I want to say.

Tbird...I can behave, but it is SO hard for me to do.

The board is in full melt mode still and he brought up South Carolina first so I would say you're free to say what's on your mind. If you don't Garnet should since he is an Aggie now.
