Right? Was it the Missouri game in which we turned the ball over on a backcourt inbound play?
You remember the movie Rookie of the Year that came out back in 1993 (it starred Kevin from American Pie)? Kid who plays Kevin is in the outfield and has a ball hit to him. He picks it up to throw it to whichever infielder, but his hat has slipped down over his eyes, so he ends up throwing the ball over the outfield fence. At that point, it cuts to his two friends watching the game from the stands. One looks at the other and asks "is that play legal?"
Anyway, that's how I've felt about some of our turnovers, like the Missouri one. I just stare at the TV, uncomprehendingly, and ask myself "is that even legal? Can we even do that?"
I don't think I've ever seen a player take as soft, inbounds pass like that and immediately fumble it out-of-bounds. I half expected the ref to toss it back to whoever inbounded it and give us another try. "Heh don't worry son! Sometimes it can be hard to catch those things after you've been playing hard and sweating. Why don't you give it another try?"
I mean it's just... damn.

My feelings exactly.
It just left me speechless how one game the team could come up with clutch buckets/possessions, and the next game have such mind-boggling displays of general basketball incompetence.

It's fricking infuriating. Makes me fricking rage like I used to when Fran ran the short side option every fricking third down or RC ran 1st down up the middle every single fricking possession.

See, thinking about things like that isn't good for my blood pressure
I know I've said it before, but I'm SO fricking glad I didn't waste the time to drive to CoMo for that game. My team losing doesn't bother me as badly as witnessing piss poor play, and that game was an especially egregious example of both.

It's fricking crazy. The Duke game in the first and second half were the same way. We have the ability to win these games and we come out flat and get burnt. That game thread is a roller coaster, pretty fun to read now that we know the outcome.

My old Corps roommate who now lives in Pennsylvania drove to ATL for that game. It was also his new gf's first Aggie game, so the first half he and I were texting each other and bitching hardcore, and when the comeback started we made each other quit texting so as to preserve the mojo
ETA: I need to go back and read that thread again. Good times.

Urge to kill rising. I can't believe pearl and buzz were both hired by new schools this offseason and hyman gave that fricking joke Kennedy another year. frick everything.

My level of pissed-off-ness at at Hyman continues to grow! I'm George Constanza mad.

I'm seeing it reported as a 7 year 18 million dollar deal, no way we could have paid him that much. frick frick frick

While this still puts me in a semi-melt, it at least makes sense. If he chose ucf and a&m didn't offer I'd flip out. I'm not sure I could blame him for picking virginia tech.

Has Eric Hyman made a quality coaching decision since his arrival?

Then I gots to know how you feel about Kennedy.

Let's put the Everest-like 'meh'-ness of Kennedy in perspective:
SFA, with a first year head coach, no true PG, no big men, and a roster limited to what a team of their caliber is capable of recruiting, starting three crackers, made the NCAA tournament and won their first round game.
Billy Kennedy, in his third year, after inheriting a tournament team, with ten quadrillion dollars of our resources backing him, has Hyman PAYING for us to play in a fake tournament just so he can say he made "the post-season".

What part of this resume is meh
- Age: 41
- From: Greenville TX
- Asst coach at A&M for 3 years
- 7 years as a D1 HC
- never had a losing conference record
- 6 years as a HC in the Big East
- 5 times making the tournament
- 3 Sweet 16s
- 1 Elite 8
I call that a lot of things but mostly I'd call it the perfect Texas A&M hire.

He is/was the perfect hire. Him instead of BK back then and our program still matters.
I blame the BMAs.
