So I was looking ahead at our SEC slate. Even though its still early, I would say the top teams, excluding us, in the conference are UK, Vandy, S Carlina, Bama, and Florida. With the exception of Vandy, we only play each team once. And of the 6 games, 4 of them are at home.

12-6 should be a very attainable goal.

If we go 15-3 then we're going to have at least 27 wins this year.

12-6 would be a disaster with how things are looking

that's the bare minimum expectation right now. We should be able to get 13 or 14 conference wins. Especially since vandy and kentucky seem to be the only really good teams

Don't be ridiculous. We're going 14-4.

There's not a single thing about the basketball season that I'm upset about except perhaps the poor officiating during the Atlantis Tournament.

At this time last year we had just lost to the only quality teams we'd faced.

This year, we beat one by double digits, beat another the next day, and lost to one of the hottest teams in the country the following day.

We've started out hot, but making the tournament and winning a game or 2 is the goal in my book. 24-10 (12-6) is a nice season which would put us ~7-8 seed. I think this is fair expectations all things considered.

I do however think our ceiling is higher. Something like 28-7.

Not directed at you, but I can't wait to see where the goalposts are at season end and how pissed everyone is that we didn't make it.

"A loss in the sweet 16, are you kidding me Kennedy!? We should have been at least elite eight!!"

Expectations change. Hell, the ones I posted are higher than what I was expecting coming into the season. Same thing happened in football, but the other way around. I expected 10-2. After we got out shite pushed in by Bama, I no longer had a 10 win expectation.

Well yes, I just hope our fan base can take a step back after constantly revising their expectations upwards.

Using this football season as an example, I'm not disappointed with 8-4, but I am disappointed with the way it happened. Offense woefully underachieved while defense overachieved to balance it out. But given that we met expectations overall is why I can take a step back and not blame Sumlin and leave the vitriol for Spav only.

but to be fair to pat, right now this team looks like it's fun. The future looks maybe even brighter. We should be sitting back and enjoying this ride. Yet it doesn't seem to be that way and if anyone expresses enjoyment there are multiple negative responses. To what end?

Definitely this year should be an enjoy the ride type of year, next year we should have higher hopes.

But is making it to the tourney and showing well high hopes this year? I don't think so
