What's the status of getting a QB this cycle? Gunnell seems like a longshot and Jayden Daniels will be staying in California. Saw that they just offered Zach Calzada.

The only uncommitted QB offers we have out there is Gunnell & Calzada. I wouldn't be shocked if Gunnell ends up back with the good guys after this roller coaster ride of a recruitment.

I think Aggies are pushing academics hard here too in addition to the obvious stuff, opportunity, SEC, etc. Dean is a better student than he is a football player. Comes from a military family with Mom and Dad both serving.

I'm lukewarm at this point. Would I take him? Hell yes, he's got the body of an NFL QB as a junior in HS and can throw it a mile. He'll probably throw for a shite ton of yards in an offense that features him.
BUT, the idea of "elite" private school QBs always makes me nervous. They always seem to have some combination of personality issues and questions about the level of competition they faced.
I'm actually really excited about Foster. I really don't think Foster gets enough credit for how good a player he was in HS. The dude's senior film is awesome and he is BY FAR the best player on the field every snap. I think whoever starts this year (Starkel or Mond) gets beat out by Foster next year because he has a lot more in the way of physical gifts. He's already more accurate than Mond.

My questions about Gunnell aren’t just the level of competition, it’s that combined with the fact he has two high level D1 receivers in Curry and Lane
If we can’t get Mertz then I am fine with taking Zeno at QB. I think he looks great on film

Are you talking about the tweet from the edit guy? I doubt it. He tweets something like that every two weeks and it's always just a new custom

Yeah but it was the responses in that tweet that got my attention. Brewster might be hinting at something too, but it could just be a typical Brewster tweet.
