Kevin Sumlin has the opportunity to have the most wins as a first year Aggie coach since...ever

Sherman: 4-8 his first year
Franchione: 4-8 his first year
Slocum: 8-4 his first year
D.X. Bible was 8-0 his first year

Only four coaches had a winning record in their first season. Even the Bear went 1-9 in his first year.

Am I missing something? 4-8 is not exactly a winning record

He is saying four coaches period...not necessarily those four coaches.

I'm very happy with Sumlin. I think it's not unlikely we end up with a ten win season if we can get past Miss St and end up in a bowl game against a middling Big Ten team.

I would be beyond happy if that team ended up being Michigan

I'd rather play the sips in the Cotton Bowl just to witness the Deloss Dodds meltdown

Would be such a boring game. I was in Dallas this year to watch Bama destroy them...literally, boredom set in before halftime and I ran out of Jack in my flask.

6-2 And 3-2 in the SEC. Shoot,if you told me we'd have wins over Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss by over a combined 90 points at thebeginning of the season I'd thought you'd be a crazy sob. Anyway, long way to go and I am thrilled with this Aggie team and the direction that Sumlin has this program headed in.

Sumlin and this team have already exceeded my highest possible expectations.

Personal motive. My mom graduated from UM and my dad from TAMU, so whenever there's a possibility for the two to play it's a big deal for my family

Same here - husband went to Michigan.

It would be boring if they played the way they played Bama. Borges needs to let Denard be Denard. There were what, 2 QB run plays against Bama? Typical old-fashioned Big Ten Lloyd ball there. Didn't care to open up against a non-Big Ten opponent...Rose Bowl is all that matters.

Aggies may breed with other former students, but our offspring remain loyal to the greatest institution to ever grace this earth.

Truth. Cheered just as hard for UM as for A&M growing up, but when it came time to apply for colleges, A&M was at the top of the list and UM was nowhere to be found.

Borges is scared to let Shoelace do his thing

Glad KK won't be afraid to turn JFF loose when we head to T-Town.

Just noticed something else:

Coach Sumlin has a chance to do something that hasn't been done by an A&M coach in 25 years...win a game after January 1.

Depressing that it's been that long.

Damn, I didn't make it into the world until July of that year.

Here's to Coach Sumlin changing that!
