I hope Chief/Sumlin vs. Hyman rumor is true. I can't see any way Sharp fires Hyman for not approving $$ for a big OC hire and then we don't make a big OC hire.
It would also explain the Meacham/Mazzone dichotomy. First there were hints we were getting Meacham, then the subsequent rumors Mazzone was the man. That would track with Sumlin wanting $$ to get Meacham, getting turned down, and having to line up Mazzone as a lower cost back-up.
Plus, this power struggle might also explain the delay in making the hire.

So because I am in the middle of a big turnaround at the plants I havent been able to keep up with all this bullshite as closely as I would like. Does Hymans departure help or hurt Sumlins chances of coaching us next year.
I could see it either way "AD gone then Head Coach so the new AD could help with the search" or "AD fired to show people actions are being taken and coach is on the hot seat this year"
Which is it? Or Neither? Help a brotha out.
PS I hope Hubanek beats out Knight for the starting job. I like the kid on and off the field.

Hard to predict what the NFL teams will do. I couldn't believe the Colts extended both their coach and GM.
49ers ran off Harbaugh and who knows what the Titans are looking for.

Just got an ESPN update saying Steve Sarkisian is expressing interest to teams as either a QB Coach or OC.
Can you imagine the wild parties Sark and Rumlin would have together?!?

I'd approve just to see the wild rumors that'll come from this.

Would the state of California try to sue us if we did...since that's what POS states that don't know how to manage money (such as Louisiana and California) seem to do lately?

Is everyone happy about the AD? What if anything does this for K Sum?

If the rumors posted earlier are true, this bodes well for Sumlin, as this would be Hyman's 3rd strike.
Strike 1: Remember all of the suspensions before the 2013 season opener? Supposedly Hyman did it himself and waited until the day before kickoff to tell Sumlin.
Strike 2: Hyman advocated for a smaller stadium and wanted to call Sumlin's bluff about the USC move (which in hindsight isn't that bad of a decision, but you don't go against your boss like that)
Strike 3: Hyman told Sumlin to manage his expectations regarding the OC hire. Sumlin told Chavis and BOTH went to Sharp.

Very interesting thanks dude

Yes the most interesting part is it explains the Meacham / Mazzone rumors and would absolve Sumlin of any misrepresentations that he had Meacham locked in

I'm not saying you're wrong, but why would the AD do that? Presumably, he would give Sumlin a ballpark estimate of what kind of budget he had to work with. Wouldn't that number be agreed upon by the relevant people beforehand?

So wait, we're not burning Sumlin at the cross anymore

CGSC for AD, who's with me?

If Sumlin came back and said it's gonna take a little more $ than we thought, the AD ought to just make some calls and see if that is doable.
In a contract negotiation, you don't box yourself in. You gotta be prepared to make a counter offer, right?

I'll take technical director, CIO, or director of information security, but I don't have the right skillset for an AD position.
Plus my family is here in Washington.
