He chose to be fired.

Stubborn, underachiever, terrible at developing QBs.....mhh, I want to say I've seen that on this board before.

If we are complaining about Sumlin being 7-2 right now, I'd imagine we would be doing the same for an 8-2 Les, don't you think?

The difference is that Sumlin will finish the year 8-4 while Miles would finish the year 10-2.

Are you seriously telling me that Les Miles isn't 2-3 orders of magnitude better than Kevin Sumlin given both coaches' bodies of work?

Nope, I'm saying that hiring him would just cause us to be back to square one. I'm also saying that there really isn't anyone out there worth the look. I'd prefer to just give Sumlin the extra year and wait to see which candidates stand out next year. Herman ain't coming here and there ain't much left after him.

I would tend to believe it more than message board chatter about Gene Stallings asking Les if he would change offensive schemes.

So yeah.

1) none of that is true

2) LSU's Amin is incompetent. Chief's lawsuit has brought so much of that out its unreal. They never gave Les choices for anything. Les didn't want to fire Cameron mid season.

Are Kevin Sumlin and Justin Moore paying you to be an apologist?

Slow down, we don't even know how he will finish to be honest.

And are you saying Miles would have beaten Saban this year???? Because Les was 3-2 when he was fired, so in order to have been 10-2, he would have needed to run the table.

So you'd prefer to give Sumlin the opportunity in a season in which we:

-Lose our starting QB, best receiver, both tackles, all of our top 5 defensive players

-Have to play UCLA, Florida, Ole Miss, and LSU on the road

-Have what is shaping up to be the worst recruiting class under Sumlin

So I've gone from a T-shirt t-sip to a hired Sumlin apologist????

Pass. Lots of good options out there if you're a good AD/President

That's irrelevant!

Sumlin's problem is that he can't beat Mullen, Freeze, or Miles/Orgeron and can't beat Malzahn at home.

Yes. I'd rather lose 1 year and see the pool of candidates next year instead of hiring someone from the current cesspool who won't win anything significant here and then have us searching for a new coach in 4-5 years again.

Patience is a virtue.

So you're saying you want another 2003 or 2008 season before hiring a new coach.

You do realize that the only time a coach was fired with enough talent on the roster for the next coach to do anything with was when Sherman was fired in 2011, right?

Not irrelevant. You're saying Les would have finished 10-2, but now you're backing off of that claim. Want to back off of the sec championship claim as well now that you look back?

Yup.

Because what you want will only have us looking for a new coach in 4-5 years.

Sumlin is 3-2 vs. Dan Mullen
Sumlin is 2-2 vs. Hugh Freeze
Sumlin is 1-4 vs. Nick Saban
Sumlin is 0-5 vs. Les Miles
Sumlin is 2-2 vs. Gus Malzahn

vs. Mullen and Bielema, Sumlin is 8-2.

vs. everyone else in our division, Sumlin is 3-11. Until he can consistently win against opponents not named Arkansas, how he does against Alabama is completely moot.
