South Park tonight and Saturday Night Live this weekend (Dave Chappelle hosts) may be the greatest 2 hours in the history of comedy.

I've said that Hillary is the worst major party nominee in history except for one: Trump. Looks like I overestimated her.

I said that Trump is an ignorant, vindictive, authoritarian arse, who didn't have a chance of winning. I was obviously wrong on the latter, so here's hoping that going forward the former will also be disproven.

Congrats, Trump voters. Your guy pulled it off. And with Republicans maintaining control over the House and Senate, he stands a good chance of making headway on policies he pursues. I'll still oppose him on the issues on which I disagree, but I'll support his efforts on those areas where we share common ground (like repealing/replacing Obamacare).

I don't know why anyone would have any hope he'll do a good job.

He can't yell at people to make them change laws.

There are going to be a shitload of people who really regret their vote for him.

It's really incredible a buffoon like him can get elected the way he did.

I'm sorry but I'm sick of the false equivalency w/them.

Is Hillary an establishment neo liberal corporatist? Sure. Does she tend to play the typical political games that sometimes stray over the line? Yes. Does she far too often play childish games w/the truth to avoid admitting a mistake even when pretending she did nothing wrong is worse than the actual mistake? Of course. Hell, I didn't even vote for her in the primary this year or in '08.

HOWEVER, she is NOT a complete know nothing, paper thin skinned, vindictive, lawsuit happy, petty, man child who surrounds himself w/people who do little more than compete to suck his dick the hardest.

The guy is completely unprepared for the job he just attained. Do any of you think he can find countries like Syria, Iran, and Libya on a map much less know who the relevant factions within each country are? Do any of you think he even cares to know the various differences in the most powerful nation's political circles around the globe? Does he know the difference between Sunni, Shitte, and Kurds in Iraq. Does he even know how a bill is passed? Or what he can and can't do as President? Does he understand that you can't just waive your hands and tell the Republicans to pass a bill that would stop insurance companies from denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions? Does he realize that manufacturing in the US has been on a decline since the 1950s and much more of it has to do w/increased efficiency due to things like robotics than it does deals like NAFTA? These are basic base line things a person in his position needs to know and I'd bet a kick to the nuts that he knows none of it.

I don't even want to hear "Well he'll surround himself w/competent people" b/c we all know he only listens to the last person he talked to and that person is always the one that strokes his ego best. The idea that he gives two shits about the little guy when he has demonstrated many times over he only cares about himself and his bank account is laughable. If he really wanted to MAGA he would have started w/his own branded products that he has made around the world. It's not like making a slightly smaller profit would truly hurt his bottom line.

Take every perceived negative from the last several Presidents; W's ignorance and naivety, Obama's arrogance and foolish faith in people who clearly are working against him, Clinton's fast and lose relationship w/the rules and at best very questionable womanizing, HW making big tax promises that can't be kept and kinda sorta invading a country for spite, Reagan pretending he had no idea what his underlings were up to w/events like Iran Contra, Carter's ineptness at working w/in his own party, and Nixon's paranoia and (again at best) borderline racism.... Well add all that shite stew into a pot and you get Donald J Trump.

I'd love to be wrong and Trump turn out to be the GOAT President of all time but having listened to him bloviate about his own greatness since I was a high schooler living in CT in the mid 90s I have very little faith in him being anything other than the caricature that is so ridiculous if he didn't exist people would say it was a poor joke that is too over the top to work as a skit on SNL.

I said way back when the primaries were going on that of all the Repubs running only Trump and Cruz could cause me to vote for Hillary. Trump b/c he is a male version of Sarah Palin (another complete know nothing who NEVER should have been elevated to the national stage) and Cruz b/c he is a weaselly shite who reminds me of the super ambitious douche from high school that would turn in his best friend for smoking pot if he thought it would get him a college rec to his safety school. But at least Cruz is educated on the issues. At least he can articulate why he believes what he does w/o resorting to demagoguery and conspiracy BS.

So entertaining? No. Trump was entertaining when he was a (mostly) harmless TV personality. Now though? I'm sorry but it's only a matter of time before he starts making big arse frickups that are going to take decades to reverse.

Blame these mouth breathers.

I remember when Obama got elected, a lot of people exaggerated how bad it would get and that they would move to Canada.

8 years later their predictions seen more realistic, yet they're no longer complaining.

First time I've ever voted for a Democrat at any level, and as you've already noted, I'm old. I still can't quite believe this shite, but oh well.

ETA: MAGA is one of the more annoying Trumpisms. America never stopped being great. And in fact we are living in one of America's best times.

Over the last 8 years, at least the last 4, the culture of America has been overtaken by this Social Justice Warrior bullshite which has diminished America as a whole.

The alternative to having hope is to be hopeless. That's a grim way to spend the next four years. Trump's got an open SCOTUS slot to fill, so he'll have an early opportunity to pay off the "but SCOTUS" arguments that many made in his favor. Or screw it up/us over. For good or ill, he'll prove himself soon enough. In the meantime I'll grasp at whatever straws I can reach.

The American people are sick of "politicians"
That was very clear after last night. Hilary Clinton basically sells information to foreign countries and has proven to be one of the most corrupt full of shite people that's come through our government. She has zero regard for American lives but none of that matters because the other dude is an a-hole billionaire? They're both sketchy but I couldn't bring myself to pick someone who turns their back on Americans and constantly has an agenda.

My bottom line is no one has a clue what we're going to get so having this sky-is-falling attitude is quite cowardly. So chill out Miley Cyrus.
