Actually PLAYING the blue chip WRs we sign would help too.

People may keep forgetting but we signed Banks today - he's been committed so long we don't appreciate him as much as we should. We have plenty of young talent at WR, and are in the hunt for more with Thomas. Not too worried, because the foundation of the future is there in the lines in this class

4* WR's are prevalent in the SEC. I'm looking forward to our North Shore signee

Banks is legit. Like really really good. He and Demas represent the future. But WR is a position you need #s at. So many don't pan out. It became our biggest weakness once Chapman went out.

2019: Wright (portal), Brown (portal), Jackson, Lane (STARTER), Smith (STARTER)
2020: Demas, Moose, Price
2021: Banks, Brown(?)

To me, that could be an issue down the road.

But we really only play two. And Buckley is coming back next year, Moose, Demas, Banks, Anias. We will be fine at WR, and probably recruit the position a little harder next year. JoJo would have been great to have, but it wasn't a burning need or anything

Brian Thomas is a better fit

2020 should be Price, not Banks

Agreed but this year was so lack luster with WR being able to beat press. Was just hoping for another guy to throw at the problem. Banks should be legit, as should Brown. Hope we get Thomas.

I bet Price could turn out to be really good. I bet he works super hard and will be a technician. And he put up some crazy numbers his senior year.

2-3

Right now Preston, Jones, and even somewhat Lane have been unimpressive. I really hope between Buckley, Moose, Demand, Banks, etc we can upgrade at least 1 spot.

Hopefully, Chapman is healthy and we'll be improved. But say Champman isn't the same and Demas can't see the field again and Banks isn't ready. Then we're stuck with average WR core when we're trying to beat the Bama's of the world.

I am not saying the sky is falling. I am not proclaiming the end of the world. I just want our WRs to be very very good like we're starting to do at DL, OL, RB, S.

So I wondering how many of our starting O line was 5, 4 or 3 star. I'm trying to determine if it really means anything? It seems you recruit good big guys and then develop them. If anyone happens to know what our current O line was rated I'd appreciate a response. I know I can look this up if I have to but most of you likely know the answer already.

4 of our 5 starting OL were the lowest rated of the past 5 classes combined. The 5th is our highest rated OL recruit of all time.

I imagine we sign 3 WR's next year. Two if we get Brian Thomas - I'd much rather have the DL and secondary right now. WR is patchable, and we will have a great class next year because of the team this year.
