Jefferson will get his chance just like the rest of Summie's players. Jimbo has processed some of his own recruits already & he's not bashful about it at all. I have no issues with it. Free ride does not mean easy ride.

Doesn't make it any better. He was what, a freshman?

Point is that he committed before Fisher was hired, which means the violations were either Sumlin, Woodward or both.

Jefferson committed just after the 2016 season as a HS freshman, at that time he was a national top 10 player in his class. He just stopped growing and never got better.

But he committed a full calendar year before Jimbo was hired.

Perroni just put out information for a late JUCO prospect for us. Any idea who this is?

Demas wont be able to play in the AA game because of his suspension. The UIL and the piece of trash north forest coach need to be shamed into the dirt

Created and controlled by the sips. There's a reason they get what they want in Texas all the time.

Sounds like Jaylon Jones, Antonio Johnson, and Donell Harris are standing out at all-star game practices so far

Corner.

quote:

Player performance rankings on their teams from 247.

3. Chris Morris (225)- Morris was our top offensive lineman of the day and was very good in the one on one drills. The Texas A&M signee won the majority of his reps in dominant fashion and didn't lose any that we saw. He has had a strong overall week and definitely looks like one of the top guard prospects in the country. He has tackle feet, is very strong and shows good lateral mobility. He has the strength and balance to hold up against the bull rushers and plays with a nice physical edge to his game as well.

3. Jaylon Jones (30)- Jones is listed as a safety but has worked out primarily at corner this week and been very good. At 6-2, 190 pounds, he has tremendous length and can just smother an opposing receiver. He was especially strong in red zone situations and is tough to beat over the top but has very good closing speed as well. We like his ability to move around and play multiple spots in the secondary and his upside is tremendous.

3. Antonio Johnson (121) - One of the best-looking defensive backs on the hoof, Johnson also was one of the best period. The Texas A&M signee had the only interception of the day on the East and also had an impressive end zone pass breakup. He was smooth in coverage all day long

7. Donell Harris (54) - There is always a really skinny, basketball-type athlete on the edge in every class that takes some projection but has a huge ceiling. Similar to Brian Burns, K'Lavon Chaisson and Arden Key before him, Harris looks like that guy in the 2020 cycle with undeniable length and twitch.

8. Edgerrin Cooper (244) - The Louisiana product is one of the more athletic linebackers on hand and it showed in drills. Cooper is a fluid mover in space and showed his coordination making a one-handed grab in an over the shoulder passing drill. We also liked how Cooper flowed to the ball in 11-on-11 action. He's set to announce at the game, with Texas A&M holding 67% of the picks in his Crystal Ball.

2. McKinnley Jackson (113) - Jackson was a problem all day for the West interior, getting a big push consistently and blowing up running plays in the backfield. He had a four-play stretch where he had two tackles for loss, another where he forced an inside run outside and another where he broke through a double team. The uncommitted Jackson is in a heavy SEC battle.

3. Antonio Doyle (99) - The Texas A&M signee had one of the most impressive plays of the day, coming off the edge on the right side to run down five-star running back Bijan Robinson in the backfield for a short loss on the left side. In the second practice, he had a pass breakup and another tackle for loss when he got to Sam Adams on a swing pass. Doyle was vocal throughout the day and took on an early leadership role on the West defense.

I'll make an idiotic prediction.

Our starting offensive line in 2020 is as follows:

LT - Kenyon Green
LG - Dan Moore
C - Luke Matthews
RG - Chris Morris
RT - Blake Trainor

No more true freshman OL, no matter how highly recruited they almost always suck until at least late in the year.

I’ve heard to not be surprised if any or all of Layden Robinson, Luke Matthews and Tank Jenkins are starting on the interior next year.

Was flying back to SA from DFW yesterday and was talking to this young man from the South East who is playing in the Army All Star Game Saturday in SA. The young man is a very polite yet quiet 4* (former 5* recruit) that has yet to sign his LOI and is waiting until February to sign.

He is being recruited by LSU, Alabama, A&M, Florida, Ole Miss, Miss State, FSU & Penn State. Crystal Ball has him headed to LSU and the kid isn't really interested in LSU and the true leader from what I can determine from our conversation will surprise you. We had the opportunity to talk about a bunch of stuff pertaining to recruitment, colleges, coaches, their personalities, perception of conferences, business network after football ends, etc. Obviously what was shared by the young man is not monolithic to what every 17-18 year old Senior recruit thinks, but it is indicative of how things are perceived to a degree. On to our conversation.

- Many kids are scared of Coach Saban. The young man told me that he really is a nice guy but kids are scared of him but know he will put them in the League if they do what he says.

- Liked Gus Malzahn. Had no idea he doesn't drink or cuss but according to the young man he does not.

- Likes Jimbo a LOT! Jimbo has been recruiting him since he was at FSU. Says Jimbo isn't fake and has put a ton of kids in the NFL. Likes that Jimbo is from a small town. Really likes the DL Coach at A&M who recruited him while he was still at Penn State and likes A&M's business network after his football days are over. Likes the camaraderie of the team.

- Said he doesn't pay any attention to recruiting services and that this time last season he was a 5* #2 rated DL in the Nation. He is shy and doesn't like to do interviews. He had a better season than last year and dropped to a 4*.

- I asked him how important it is to win a National Championship and he is more interested in how he gels with his teammates and at that point they can focus on National Championships.

- Likes Orgeron but I didn't take that he was really enthralled with the guy. How this young man is CB'd to LSU is beyond me.

- After Jimbo left, Wille Taggart came in. Really didn't think Willie Taggart had a plan for the program and FSU was eliminated quickly.

- Has not spoken to Mike Norvell since he took the reigns at FSU

- Asked him about playing in the Big 12 and he smiled and said, "They don't play defense in the Big 12- did you see what LSU did to Oklahoma?" That stung. Like it or not, the perception of the Big 12 is BAD right now. REALLY BAD!

- Told him that Texas just hired a former DC that was DC when Ohio State won their last National Championship- did not move the meter 1 bit.

- Asked him about Tom Herman and Texas and he said, "Texas doesn't recruit the Southeast very much- matter of fact we don't see any schools from the Big 12 recruiting the Southeast and it's too bad. Those schools don't realize that a lot of guys would love to leave the area they're from and get away."

- Said he heard great things about Bijam and he's supposed to be a great player.

This kid is a small town kid from the Deep South and there is no way he would be happy at a school in a city like Austin. He wants to play in a small town and think about it, every school in the SEC is in a relatively small town/city (College Station, Baton Rouge, Fayetteville, Oxford, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Athens, etc.), we literally have no chance.

Don't like saying it but my Crystal Ball has him going to A&M.

Thanks for posting this. I don't follow recruiting very close now that the ESD took a lot of steam out of the traditional NSD.

Jackson seems like a good kid that would gravitate to what Aggieland has to offer.

Anything out there on Ngata or Evans? I get the feeling Evans is gone to UGA & Ngata is a lock for AZ State. Need another RB in this class like rain in August. A co-worker of mine came out of Northshore & still has some ties to the program. In reply to questions about Evans he changes the subject. Which with says everything. He's got trouble tattooed on his forehead.

We’re finishing with Cooper, and two out of Jackson, Shep, and a running back (maybe a grad transfer).

Unless all the insiders are wrong, Evans has already signed with Georgia. I’m sure we would still take Ngata, but he pretty much lost his spot to Archane, and Archane had an insane season compared to Ngata.

In three years on the varsity squad McKinnley Jackson had 32 sacks, 248 tackles, 105 TFL, 39 passes deflected and 11 FF.

Those numbers are INSANE for an interior DL.
