If Demas is at Reynolds or Kirk level I will be more than happy. If he's more than that, God help us all.

Jeez the recruiting board on tRant has gone to shite

we all need to appreciate what we have in demas. demas is on the myles garret track. he will immediately be the best player in our program the very second he steps on campus. we need to appreciate the, minimum, 36 games we will get to see him for and then tip our caps and thank him for choosing us as he goes on to be a top 10 pick in the draft

i dont like this pressure

Hopefully we can utilize his talent better than we did with Garrett.

Not sure how he's not ranked in the top 10 in the composite. I'd argue he's top 5

Myles averaged double digit sacks and made an impact constantly. He was utilized just fine and went #1 overall.

#1 draft pick is great. You'd have thought we could have had a better defense than we did having him and Daeshon Hall. Teams exploited our scheme with them constantly.

It's a team sport. Myles was great. They don't just hand out back to back 1st Team All American spots to anyone.

Having bad corners and weak lbs = Myles not being utilized correctly? Or are you suggesting we play Myles at corner. Not sure where this poor utilization theory comes from but it's been echoed a lot.

I would pay to see that.

He would probably have been better than what we were trotting out there

I think it was more of a scheme/coaching issue. Our ends shot up the field every play which hurt our run defense as evidenced in almost all of our games.

This. Our scheme made Myles look average at run defense when he was a 6 4 270lb 4.6 DE freak of nature. I’m just glad it didn’t cost him #1 overall

Interestingly enough, pff graded Myles out as the best edge rusher against the run in all of college football his sophomore, and (limited) junior year. He was so good he transcended the scheme

Honestly didn’t know that. He was just always so far upfield I’m surprised. And I’m not blaming that on him at all, he’s pretty much capable of doing anything athletically on a football field

Myles must have been graded great against the run because no one got outside of him. Teams went right at Myles and Hall, and Chief made sure they vacated the area. It was pitiful. We were so bad against the run, and scheme was just as big a reason why as lack of physicality.
We did not get the best out of Myles. He was such a freak, and our defense was terrible.

Yeah it was most noticeable on read option plays. I wonder if because he was so far upfield it didn’t count against him (which is fair in his case IMO because it was clearly a scheme thing)
