re: Official 2018 Recruiting Thread

I am considering taking Wednesday off. It’s going to be a big day.

I’ve watched all of the tape on our commits and potentials over at 247 over the past couple of weeks. To me the one who really sticks out is Waddle... Waddle has Pro potential all over him. He a very fluid runner. Preston doesn’t seem as fast but he looks a little more allusive (good change of direction). Like both those guys.

Purdy was offered, going to OV this weekend.

Just offered Brock Purdy

The guy's film is one the biggest film vs ranking discrepancies I've ever seen. Maybe the competition sucked, but he's so much better than every other player on the field every single snap.

He does look like a 4 Star. Low 4. His mechanics are a little off imo. He doesn’t step into his throws enough and because of that his ball floats a little. But he does have a lively arm which makes up for some of those deficiencies and he seems to be a gamer. I like him.

I watched everyone of Matt Staffords hs games so I’m a little spoiled as he was the best hs player I’ve ever seen.

Didn’t you see Johnny in HS. He’s the heat I’ve ever seen. Straight video game numbers every week.

I did see Johnny. But Matt’s mechanics and arm strength were truly elite. Plus he played against some outstanding competition. Was mvp of the elite 11 or 8 or whatever it was back then. Honestly, he doesn’t look any better now than when I saw him his senior year. The dude had a cannon and could place the ball anywhere he chose.

Also Jacoby Simpson has cancelled his OV, apparently no offer was coming. If we only end up with Sanders at LB, I’m going to be really disappointed in that area of recruiting.
