Their defense looked good at times And horrible at times giving up more points to Kansas and tech than anyone
And they also lose the three best defensive players they have now and possibly the fourth
With no one that deserves to be starting anywhere to replace them next year
Asked to your comment about them playing teams close, remember they almost lost to ISU and KSU and probably should have lost to both you can’t give them credit for almost winning some hard games against good teams without penalizing them for almost losing bad games against bad teams. They are digressing at all of their skill positions next year and have no improvement on talent to look forward to on the field next year. And with two of the losses this year being directly on the coaching I don’t see how they can improve their record next year
I’m pretty sure it was you at the start of the season that I had a discussion with, if I recall correctly you were pretty high on Herman and adamant that the talent on the team was good for at least eight or nine wins this year and Charlie had left them in a very good position . At 6-7 They could easily have been 4–8 I think I was probably right then too wouldn’t you agree?

Defense was good outside of KU and Maryland where they were atrocious.
Real issue IMO was an atrocious offense. For an offensive guy Herman looked inept. Those meltdown threads by Bama are pretty telling that every fan wants to murder Tim Beck. LBs and DBs should be decent next year. DL, not so much.

I mentioned the K State game, but left off Iowa State the same way I left off Maryland and OU as games the outcome was deserved IMO.

Probably. I wanted Herman to be our coach instead of Smart. Glad we went away from my decision

But you make great points about who is leaving. Biggest thing Kirby was able to do was keep Chubb, Michel, Bellamy, and Carter from going pro. Herman has not been able to do that which should be a little concerning for Texas fans for sure.
Again, Jimbo can recruit, looks to be hiring a helluva staff, and has proven he can get guys from Texas to Tallahassee. Should be much easier to convince them to stay home. Just a fantastic hire all around, and puts you as the 2nd most dangerous opponent in the West going forward to me.

Thanks for the tip on the Texags Premium Sarge. I can see myself getting hooked, there is a lot of content. Might just sell off some crypto and keep it next year.

worth the money all by itself

VIP Recruiting Notes
As reported at GigEm247, Thursday is expected to be a big night for Fisher and his staff. In-home visits to 4-star linebacker DaShaun White and 4-star defensive lineman Bobby Brown are on the schedule, and of the current class, White and Brown are the two athletes who many feel are most on the fence right now. White said he's excited about having the staff in town, and this will give him a chance to further get to know Fisher. Understanding Fisher's philosophies on and off the football is something that is very important to White. The Richland High School standout on Sunday mentioned he'll have some questions for Fisher, including who he'll keep from Sumlin's staff.
The good news for both White and Brown is that defensive ends coach Terry Price is expected to be retained. Price has been instrumental in recruiting and landing both Tarrant County athletes. Brown, from Arlington Lamar High School, has said multiple times that he committed to the Aggies because of his relationship with Price. The in-home visits, however, won't be a cake walk for Fisher. While the athletes both like Price, they also wanted to be coached by Sumlin. Fisher will need to make an outstanding impression Thursday night.
Looking for a name at cornerback? Hebron High School cornerback Verone McKinley III is an Oregon commit, but he said is keeping his options open after the departure of Willie Taggart, who took Fisher's old head coaching job at Florida State. McKinley is a 3-star cornerback with 34 reported offers -- including Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Arizona State ... and Texas A&M. Sources close to the situation said Price reached out to Hebron head coach Brian Brazil to inquire about McKinley. The Aggies are without a cornerback commit, and McKinley could help fill that void. He had 50 tackles, five interceptions and seven pass breakups this season. McKinley's a lockdown defender at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, and he's a player with a high football IQ. His father, Verone McKinley Jr., played at Texas Tech in the 1990s. He's still planning on taking an official visit to Oregon this weekend, but per a source, "if they [A&M] are interested, then he is interested."
You have to commend Fisher for jumping out the boat head first from a recruiting perspective. He's looking to build this 2018 class, but one 2019 player is hoping to hear from him soon. Allen High School wide receiver Theo Wease is a 5-star player with 34 offers -- but he doesn't have an offer from the Aggies. A one-time Oklahoma commit, Wease is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete who is in the middle of a state-championship run with Allen. He leads his team with 44 receptions for 729 yards and 13 touchdowns. This is an Allen team that has 13 players with at least one catch. This isn't the first time Wease has wanted to be in contact with the Aggies. He mentioned last month that he wanted to speak to the coaching staff and the game against Alabama, with the environment of Kyle Field, lit a fire in him. "I actually have had a lot of interest in them," Wease told GigEm247 in October. "No. 1, they're in Texas, and if I wanted to stay close, my family could come see me. Plus, it's in the SEC, so I know I'll be playing against the top competition."
JUCO target Emmit Gooden said he spoke with defensive tackles coach David Turner on Tuesday, and the two discussed Jimbo Fisher wanted to speak with the stud lineman from Independence (Kansas) Community College. The Aggies had not offered Gooden under the Kevin Sumlin era. This could be a late target for Fisher. Gooden, a 4-star defensive tackle and one-time Arkansas commit, is the nation's No. 8 JUCO player and No. 4 JUCO tackle in the 2018 class. He's expected to officially visit Louisville this weekend and has officially visited Arkansas and Arizona State. Alabama is a team to watch, as well, as he's been in contact with defensive line coach Karl Dunbar. Gooden told GigEm247 that an offer with Texas A&M would hold a lot of weight and give him something to thing. An offer, however, would have to come soon, as he's looking to finalize a commitment soon. He will be a mid-year transfer and is planning on signing Dec. 20.
Texas A&M has the St. Pius X duo of 4-star quarterback Grant Gunnell and 3-star wide receiver Chase Lane committed. If the Aggies can land Wease's pledge, it would make for a solid foundation into Fisher's first class he'll hand his hands fully on.

Georgia insiders are calling Fields interest "legitimate". Apparently, the prospect of sitting behind Fromm for so long is troubling to him.

I've never paid much attention to recruiting, because it has always -- with rare exceptions -- seemed like we end up in pretty much the same range: solid but nowhere close to elite. And the ability to stack classes has just not been there. But it looks to be a new day. shite is about to get interesting.

Guys, don't do what Auburn, FSU, Florida, LSU, Bama, Clemson, Penn St, and every other school in between has done.
Or do it!

Don't think anyone is actually thinking we will get him after not even really recruiting him until three days ago

We have to be one of the only fanbases in the nation, that can be one game away from playing for a NC, with the #1 player in the nation solidly committed to us, and are panicking because a really good kid is listening to new points of view (in this case from the coaches in C Stat and Tallahassee.)
It's embarrassing. And fwiw, I'll worry when our Mods our worried.
