Read this article today about Chapman, not sure if he will be cut lose or not, he was recently offered by Florida and someone on Texags said his GF is going to UCF to play volleyball. I think he has a ton of potential and would probably tear it up in Mullen’s offense playing just like Fred Ross.

Why so many wide receivers though? Would we move any of them to tight end or defensive back?
Starting with the guys already here, I think anyone that has been on campus 2 years and has had an impact is on the chopping block

There's not much there that's proven, but a lot of potential. I'm fine with bringing in as many highly rated guys as possible and letting them sort themselves out. We already have 3 WR commits, so adding 3 more may be a bit much, but I don't think we'll come up on our max # of commits. Unless we have to tell other important guys we have no room, I wouldn't turn anyone listed or committed away.

I can see Rogers and Hansford being moved to tight end. Davis may end up retiring, as I don't think his injury fully healed from his redshirt season. As far as Moses Reynolds, he's gone from DB to WR and may go back to DB.

I'm pretty high on Chapman. Hope we keep him around. If you want to drop a receiver, I would rather it be Parker or one of the guys already on the roster.
Q. Davis and J. Dunning are probably two guys we need to evaluate if it's time to retire or if those knees are going to recover to the point where they can compete. Don't want to give up on either but both have struggled to get all the way back.

Saw this yesterday where A&M coaches were going to visit Chapman. I took that to mean Fisher still wanted him.

are there any dodson level linebackers committed in this class?

Rogers would need to gain like 50-60 pounds to move to tight end in this offense. Hansford would need to put some serious weight on as well
FSU’s tight ends typically ran 6 4 6 5 240-260

DaShaun White is the only committed linebacker.
Fortunately (or unfortunately), there aren't any senior linebackers on the roster and it's not likely that Alaka leaves for the NFL.
I still don't see why Ikenna Okeke didn't play a down this season. He could have EASILY made plays as a linebacker or even at safety.

Don't have a link but Seth Small tweeted a pick with Jimbo, Banks, and Price. Pretty good indication they are going to stick around which would be awesome.
Also hope Jimbo sticks to Sumlin's philosophy of using 3 scholarships at a time on K/P. Seeing other teams struggle in the kicking game has made me so thankful that we emphasize it in recruiting and use scholarships to address it.
Edit: Sarge beat me too it

Jace Sternberger is a JUCO target at TE LINK
I bet they try to get a JUCO who can play right away plus a HS kid at TE

He doesn’t have an offer but I doubt he’d be visiting this weekend if he didn’t have any indication that he was getting one

Texags reporting Jimbo and Banks had extremely positive sit down with Fast 7v7 Houston's head coach Ro Simon, who stated it was one of the best sit downs he's ever had with a coach. Jimbo setting things up to get Leon back into the fold this year and make moves in the coming years.

"247 Recruiting" by Perroni
Jimbo Fisher is now officially at Texas A&M. That means he is ready to get into recruiting mode. Here some overall and individual notes.
-We expect Fisher to recruit nationally, same as he did at Florida State. The state of Texas will always be the bread and butter but we've been told to expect him to hit the Miami area hard as well. Dade County is always full of prospects - probably moreso than any other area in the country - and he and some assistants he hires will have ties there.
-Now that Cade Fortin has decommitted, A&M has to look at several other QB options. The main one is five-star Justin Fields out of Georgia. Fields is the No. 1 player in the nation and has been committed to in-state Georgia since early October. However, there are a few issues in A&M's favor here.
The Bulldogs have a freshman starter at quarterback in Jake Fromm, who was the SEC Co-Newcomer of the Year. Also, Dameyune Craig was the main reason he was so high on Florida State and many had him penciled in to the Seminoles. The one concern was that Craig was not an on-field coach and he could be gone. That's exactly what happened and, with Craig now in College Station, look for them to put the full court press on Fields. He still has official visits left and it would not be surprising to see him use one to College Station.
-If not Fields, another quarterback that A&M could very well go after is high four-star Justin Rogers from Louisiana. A teammate of Terrace Marshall, Rogers is a longtime TCU commit but he has had in-homes with LSU lately and is a player that could reciprocate interest. Like Marshall, he also missed his senior season due to injury. A&M could also pass on a quarterback in the class - the Aggies have three scholarship freshmen on the roster - but Matthew Baldwin of Lake Travis is a possible in-state option as he has seen his stock soar lately but, unlike the others, he had never heard from Fisher at FSU.
-Speaking of Marshall, he had an in-home visit with Ed Orgeron on Monday night and will have one from Fisher this week or next. He is still set to decide on Dec. 22 and it is an A&M-LSU battle.
-Houston Episcopal wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has set up an official visit to A&M this coming weekend. We continue to hear this will likely be an A&M-Alabama battle.
-We still keep hearing that Terry Price is likely retained. If that's the case, we still expect DE Joseph Ossai in this class.
-As Damon reported earlier, Leon O'Neal Jr. was able to speak with Jimbo Fisher. We think the differences can be resolved but it is still a battle with Clemson and Oklahoma. Same as when he decommitted on Friday, there are still people close to him that think he ends up back in the fold at A&M eventually.
-Longtime offensive tackle commit Colten Blanton loves Texas A&M but he was still a bit concerned with the coaching change. After making the trip to A&M on Sunday, it seems his fears have been allayed and he will be enrolling early at A&M. "I really liked him a lot. I like his football philosophy and what he does off the field is great as well," Blanton said.
-Clear Brook wide receiver Caleb Chapman was offered by Florida on Sunday but, as long as A&M wants him in the class, we expect the lifelong Aggie fan to stay committed.
-Things are probably trending a bit toward LSU with former A&M DT commit Dominic Livingston. After Ed Orgeron had an in-home visit with him last week, he changed his official visit schedule to be in Baton Rouge this coming weekend instead of College Station. If Fisher and Co. make him a priority, there is still a lot drawing him to A&M, though.
-Texas had an in-home visit on Monday with Bobby Brown. However, Alabama is still the team for A&M to worry about, especially after Nick Saban made a visit last week. The Tide are supposed to be in later this week but an official announcement on Price's future will help A&M's cause there. Even if Price is retained, though, don't discount Alabama here.
-Fisher had offered Boling jumbo ATH Vernon Jackson as a DE at Florida State but we are told that he loves the 6-3/245 Alabama commit as a potential running back. Jackson only has Alabama and Texas official visits set up right now but look for Fisher to visit at some point and work on getting him on campus. It won't be this coming weekend, though, as he's still in the playoffs.
-Look for Fisher to make the rounds in Houston this week. He has to come up with the best strategy for when to use his one visit per player but he is expected at St. Pius. Juniors can't have in-home visits so it's not as big a deal with trying to strategize that trip.
-People have also asked about Ole Miss safety Deontay Anderson, who was given his full release. The buzz around people close to the former Manvel standout is that Oklahoma is the likely destination. All other non-seniors will likely be given conditional releases, which say they can't transfer to SEC schools. That's what happened with Shea Patterson
