Will be an open competition I'm fairly certain. New OC will watch them both and pick his guy.

Who is the other guy besides Knight?

And I obviously haven't followed this hire. Why is the OC from UCLA such a dogshit hire?

It isn't really, we just thought for a day we would get the TCU OC so it was a letdown.

Jake Hubenak (started the bowl game) & whatever freshman we bring in.

He isn't dogshit, but we had higher hopes.

He's not, he is just not who most Ags wanted and were led to believe we were getting is all.

He was a coordinator for both Auburn and Ole Miss. During that time, they had some of the worst offenses in their history.

I gotcha.

Just reading this thread, someone described it as a "double play" instead of a home run hire.

I mean, it isn't the worst hire in the world. But I can understand if you guys were hoping for better. And hey, I bet you he ends up being better than the Steele hire for LSU.

At least you guys got rid of the old OC.

Boom. Aggie football was SO frustrating to watch last year. And it's not like he's no good.

UCLA pts/game
2008 17.7 #110
2009 21.8 #93
2010 20.1 #103
2011 23.1 #88
Mazzone takes over
2012 34.4 #31
2013 36.9 #21
2014 33.5 #37
2015 32.2 #45

He's not who everybody fleetingly thought we'd get, thanks mostly to TCU board comments. But he'll almost certainly be an improvement - assuming he brings in a new OL coach.

Bruce Feldman reporting that Mazzone flying back to LA without signing an agreement. Mora saying that Mazzone may leave, may not.

Everyone was wrong on Nelson. Hamm was working for Rivals back then and literally threatened bodily harm to Nelson.
