I know you're talking Franklin, but I agree with you regardless of OC.

Mazzone Run / Pass
'15: 459 (47.4%) / 510 (52.6%)
'14: 557 (56.6%) / 435 (43.4%)
'13: 566 (59.2%) / 390 (40.8%)

Looks like we will be running the ball this year.

Yeah I did quick math in my head looking at the stats from Franklins offenses at Cal and La Tech and it was like 55-60 pass. That would put a ton of pressure on Hubenak or Knight.

And again I don't think a dink and dunk air raid can be that successful in this conference with the athletes at LB and the secondary. You need to be able to hit the deep ball like Goff and Manziel could

Neither guy excites me a lot but I think to win games right now Mazzone's offense would be better

I know UCLA threw a ton of passes behind the line of scrimmage though, someone had posted an article from Roto with the stat. So that's concerning as well

Yes and no. We need to be able to use the horizontal pass effectively. Almost all spread offenses do. We just need to not be predictable and it needs to go to Speedy, Kirk, and those types not Carson.

Someone posted that Mazzone would definitely develop the TE

Thomas Duarte was a hybrid WR/TE. He went for 53-872-10 last year.

My God look at Texags furiously polish this turd

True, Mazzone also had some mundane starts at Auburn and Ole Miss, but their talent level was quite low then.

Yeah, so low that Auburn was ranked #14 the year they replaced Mazzone with Petrino

It's not a home run

But it's not a bad hire either

Probably the best we could hope for

Agreed. I'm only disappointed because I felt like we needed a home run. Well see how it plays out.

Not a home run hire, feels like an in the gap double or so. At this point, let's just see what happens.

After all this drama I am just relieved it's over.

I thought it felt bad having Mazzone as the OC, but the concept that we would be rejected by Mazzone to be our OC felt worse.

Yeah those Auburn offenses were nasty once Petrino took over. He's one of the best ever but there was a lot of talent

I agree, we were incredibly predictable with it under Spav. The number for Mazzone was really high, like 33%. Hopefully we at least vary it and use things like the tunnel screen that Spav never used, and use Kirk more out of the backfield

What about Adrian Klemm, the killer recruiter? He's the only one of the bunch I wanted.

Les won't be getting fired next year. LSU is going to field a very solid team next year he won't be able to frick it up. He can lose two or even 3(close games) and still get another year with this recruiting class and honestly I only see us losing two.

6th in Total Offense (1st in SEC), 21st in Scoring Offense (3rd in SEC) thus far. Maybe it wasn't a horrible (double-play like) hire.
