Pretty impressive since OU was the most hurt by the tamu Jff/sec effect during his time period.

What a truly awesome staff, both in teaching and recruiting. Things are about to improve dramatically at A&M

So long as we support them and give them what they need to be competitive, I have no doubts about this staff.

Pretty exciting times in aggieland.

I was very excited in ‘12 and ‘13, but this is the most positive I’ve felt about our long term outlook in my lifetime.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Price is only staying on-board until after NSD.

I get the feeling ND is having trouble filling that DC post. No word coming out of their camp. If so, he'd be one of two candidates on staff to potentially get promoted. If he doesn't tho...

There is absolutely nothing to suggest this

Just looking at Montgomery's bio, I don't see any obvious intersection with the coaching history of Fisher or Elko. Montgomery seems to have been in the Big12 (Oklahoma) and Big10 (Michigan). Maybe they just know him by reputation through the coaching grapevine, though.

Not every hire has to be a connection. How is Jimbo connected to Elko?

I think FSU played Wake Forest during Elko's time there, they are both in the ACC. I seem to have read somewhere where Jimbo praised Wake's defense under him, but don't have a link at hand for that.

Yeah Fisher was pretty vocal in his praise for Elko after FSU played Wake. There plenty of coaching seminars/clinics plus staffs visit other schools all the time where they get familiar with each other though. I remember reading that James Franklin heard Joe Moorhead (old Penn State OC and new MSU HC) speak at a coaching clinic when Moorhead was at Fordham and filed his name away to follow him and watch film of his offense. He ended up offering him their OC job a few years later
