Yep, that’s exactly what it is. To be fair, I think all of the insiders are in the dark as well, just nobody wants to admit it and lose subs. Especially as more people are coming back to information sites with the renewed interest in the program.

A regular poster the other day on premium had a summary of everything Liucci had posted about the DC in a list and it’s all just vague enough that when we hire a guy he will match some of the criteria he’s been posting not all of it, and he will say he was in the know the whole time.

But back to the main topic, I really hope Jimbo locks down a DC soon after these bowl games and we hit the recruiting trail hard between them and February since we had a lackluster early signing period. Lot of activity when he first was hired and filling out his staff, but since then it’s gotten pretty quiet again.

I may find out who the DC is after our bowl game.

Got an inside man making moves. I think we are going to start hearing the name floated around pretty quickly.

read an article from Ira shoffel, hes FSU's rivals site publisher; if anyone is expecting more access with the new staff than we got with sumlin they are likely going to be disappointed. jimbo seems to hate the media even moreso. could be pretty troublesome with luicci

You mean to tell me that a guy who gets arguments with fans doesn't like to be questioned?

You will know because it won't be someone eliminating names from vague statements on a website but actual rumors on social media. The name is going to find a way to bust lose before the new DC coaches his bowl game.

Nobody should expect anything but good football. That's it. You don't deserve access to the inside of the program just because you buy tickets.

in the article i read, he said jimbo pulled him aside after a presser and straight up asked him what his problem was and promptly told him to F off. this was after jimbo had berated the media for not knowing anything cause theyve never coached. he had a guy named Monk that worked in the AD as sort of a "cooler". he was supposedly the calming influence that jimbo needed when dealing with the media and administration, he passed away last year though and alot of the issues jimbo had had exacerbated and ultimately led him here.

I feel like we’d have to do some major backpedaling if it was Schiano

Notre Dame 247 site, "Brian Kelly suggested another program showed interest in taking defensive coordinator Mike Elko away from Notre Dame after the Citrus Bowl." That program apparently was Texas A&M.

In an interview published tonight by Irish Illustrated, Kelly refused to confirm directly that it was the Aggies that attempted to lure away Elko (who had previously caught A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher's eye when both were in the ACC) but A&M is looking for a defensive coordinator and they have plenty of money to spend. “If you’re looking at the defensive coordinators that are out there today and you look at what they’re being paid, it’s ridiculous,” Kelly said. “The money is crazy and the length of contracts that are being thrown at you. You look at it that way, you’re probably going to catch somebody’s eye early on in the process, and I’m not saying that it happened or it didn’t happen, you can put two and two together.”

Kelly didn't get specific about what the Irish did to keep Elko in the fold. “Yeah, it’s been a challenge, but we’ll all be together,” Kelly said. “At first glance, yeah, I think you’re always on guard (about losing a coach), especially the defensive coordinator position. Mike came in, did a really good job. His name was out there, but he’s gonna be here at Notre Dame.”
