Our DC under Jimbo Fisher is going to be the Notre Dame DC Mike Elko. 1) He's a DC/S. This matches the idea that Billy said he would bring one more secondary coach to help him. Or he will run the whole DB field as he has done in the past. 2) Mike Elko was the Wake Forest DC guru who completely turned around a terrible unit into "one of the best we played against" said by Jimbo. LINK See Article Above. - In Elko's first year FSU scored 43 points on them. In his second year they only scored 24. In Elko's final and third year at Wake Forest he held Jimbo Fisher to his lowest point total of the entire 2016 year with just 17 points. In 2016, the Demon Deacons' defense ranked in the top-20 of the Football Bowl Subdivision in fumbles recovered (third), turnovers forced (10th), sacks (12th), defensive TDs (17th), red zone defense (17th) and scoring defense (20th). Wake Forest was one of four schools in the FBS to rank in the top-20 in turnovers forced, sacks and scoring defense in 2016. The other three schools -- Alabama, Clemson and Washington -- qualified for the College Football Playoff. Remember Jimbo watched this first hand as he turned around this defense. He played him every year. - Elko has a LB coach (who billy said he would bring) Clark Lea who has been everywhere with him. He was at Bowling Green and Wake Forest where they turned a horrible unit into a top 20 unit. Finally he's playing for Notre Dame under a big contract. They are in a fairly big bowl against LSU. It would make sense he's coaching all the way through. He Checks every box of Billy's riddle. Final shot. Mike Elko is the guy.
