Yep, Liucci came out strong this morning on Jimbo - unless things fall through at last minute, he will be our coach. Liucci doesn't do that very often.

Yep. Just as he predicted Bud Foster to be the DC...

Bud Foster was supposed to be the DC, actually. My VT friends all thought he was gone as well. Nothing is certain

If it is Jimbo that bowl projection is going to be awesome if it turns out

We have to fire our coach first ;)

But it is interesting Looch would put that out there as a “prediction”. He typically seems to be somewhat cautious/conservative on these matters so it does tell you something

Sumlin being fired is already a foregone conclusion. Especially if Liucci said so

That would be awesome. Have the two interim coaches go head to head and get Jimbo in the booth

I know folks who say that the phone call from Chavis stopped the Foster deal. Infact it was supposed to be cemented the day Chavis called. From what I hear

Just not going to get him out of TCU. I would take Patterson over all other choices out there. Think when UT made a run at home a few years ago and he basically told them to frick off... it seems very unlikely he is ever going to leave TCU.

He just gets it done at TCU.

I'd say chances are pretty damned good that he's going to be our next coach.

Well that's depressing as hell.

The man totally LOST his team this year.

He needs to beat ULM to be bowl-eligible.

He's done a worse job than Sumlin (who I don't like) EVER has, with BETTER players than Sumlin has!!!

Who cares if they lost their QB? That's a team staaaaaaaacked with 5* talent. It should be able to be an 8-winner sleepwalking on pure talent. We lost our real QB too and still managed a meh season.

FSU did as poorly as they did because they totally lost faith in Jimbo and quit. That's a horrific sign. That's Frantastic. And we want to pay $7MM for that guy?

He better have a DAMN good reason why he lost his locker room this year.

I think we're making a major mistake. Bookmark this.

How do you think Sumlin and our team would have fared vs Bama, NC State, Miami, Lousiville, BC, & Clemson? I would say 2-4 at best, 0-6 at worst. If they finish off the schedule and go 6-6, we'd probably go 7-5 vs the same schedule. The down year and situation in FSU present an opportunity to land a top-tier head coach. I'd gladly take on the risk the comes with Jimbo. If he killed it this year and won 10 games again do you think we'd even sniff interest from him?

Honestly they lost 2 games with under a minute to go. also think he is on 3rd QB now because of injuries.

Not sure if he lost locker room or not. Normally you lose a locker room when players are treated differently. IMO he has a bit of a track record at FSU of players acting like fools off the field. Is this a real or recurring problem for him or is just the mentality at FSU?

I have no idea.

I meant ever (at A&M). Poor choice of words on my part. Mea culpa.

Someone who has done more with less (Dan Mullen) instead of less with more (Jimbo, who is going to be 6-6 while loaded with 5*).

The proof is in the pudding. A bad looking (I've watched a few of their games) 6-6 squad despite being among the top 5 in total talent on campus based on aggregated ratings.
