Jake Hubenak was our best QB all along

I've got some decent intel that says Jake Hubenak was the likely future starter just based on practice performance. The word is the 5-star prima donnas felt the heat and bolted before any true competition revealed itself. It's just too embarrassing for the 5-star egos. In all likelihood, Kyle and Kyler could have stayed ahead of him on the depth chart due to all that surrounds 5-star QB pressure on coaches. This situation, while melt-worthy at the moment, could still play out nicely for us. It appears Jake has always been the best QB on the roster.

Kyle was, by far, our best QB when healthy.

I don't know this for certain
Is Jake a dual threat qb?

Yes he was.

That doesn't sound so "decent"

No doubt in my mind Kyle was our best option this year. That said, if the rest of the team comes to play, I am very comfortable with Hubenak leading the team in the bowl game.
As for dual-threat QBs, sad that in the end Murray's dual threat was 1) quit on the team or 2) stay and be a cancer

I am out of silver lining.
Glad you still have some.

My comment was just about the bowl game, not the state of the program. I think Jake may have more game than we think and it could give the team something and someone to rally around.
As for the program? No ifs ands or buts, it's a mess. I hate how the season unfolded and the events of the past week. Sadly, things could get worse, but if a few things fall right, much can be salvaged. I just fear we may do this all over again next year if we enter the season with a true lame duck HC.

So it's all about the bowl win streak? If that continues it will feel like the NCAA streak back in the day when we hated the coach and he hated us.
Louisville is a mess, I am not too worried.
You made me find my silver lining though- thank frickING God we aren't playing Tech in the bowl. I officially feel better

Jake had some nicely thrown balss when used.
He will be servicable but Allen was the best available when healthy..

Yep. We booked flights and hotels for bowl before Kyle Allen left team. Was thinking we would see Hubenak replace Kyler in the game at some point. Actually not bothered at all that Kyler is leaving.
Bothered more about the clusterfrick situation Sumlin had Kyle and Kyler in most of the season. Seriously bordered on complete incompetence in my opinion. Bush league stuff.

You're right on brother. The future is much brighter for us than LSU, and their fans know it.

I suspect Allen had the best natural ability of our QBs. But he was inconsistent, which opened the door for the other two.
Hubenak is a survivor. And sometimes that matters in life. He now has the reigns by default. He's probably not as talented as Allen at his best. But that doesn't matter now.
If we can run the ball against Louisville, his job will be a whole lot easier.

I hope he seizes the opportunity and balls out.

Both QBs transfer and the coach is on his way out but you keep the faith. Got to respect that. But no I didn't know that.

He probably will imo. I see a guy who has no problem taking his licks and just proud to be an Aggie who wants to learn and better his game. Those types always excel when not expected. Kyler leaving might turn out to be a blessing in disguise
