Interesting Recuit Story

Quick background. My wife’s from Alabama and her family are big Alabama fans. Her dad is very involved with the university.

Went to the SEC championship game tonight. Sitting at dinner with a group of folks after the game, including Mark Tyson (grandson of Bear Bryant). His son, Paul, is currently committed to Alabama at QB. We started talking about the recruiting process and he had some interesting takes. Clemson has by far the nicest facilities, they loved Gus Malzahn despite the obvious reasons his son couldn’t go there. I asked Mr, Tyson about A&M and his was response was that it was terrible. He said they visited back under the Sumlin regime per Sumlin’s request. Flew to college station, toured the facilities then participated in a camp. Despite Sumlin inviting them to the camp, not once did Sumlin even introduce himself or talk with the Tyson’s.

I know, cool story. I’m drunk. But another reason why I’m glad Sumlin is gone.
