We need to finish with a higher winning % than 2 of Lsu, Auburn, & Mizzou. Edit: a series win and Mizzou winning the series over Auburn or a sweep of Lsu.

From some random person on TA

quote:

I live in Lubbock and I have a coworker whose wife works with the wife of an assistant coach. Evidently the assistant and his wife may already be looking for a house in College Station. My coworker claims it seems to be a done deal!

It’s probably BS but what a fantastic hire that would be.

Either Tadlock or Schloss would be awesome. Interested to see what happens

Season over, era over.

Let's see who the 4th head coach in A&M baseball since 1959 is.

So it looks like we are considering Schloss, Vitello, Godwin and Bakich at this poing according to the insiders. Anyone hear otherwise?

I haven’t heard Bakich by anyone other than guys just listing their wishlist. Link Jarrett has been included in these lists too.

Any of those 5 would be good hires.

Okay, just read a new name that I am not even sure I believe, but Pat Casey might just want to get back into coaching.

I saw someone speculate that elsewhere (I think on Baseball America). As long as he still has the fire to go out and recruit and we put a staff around him that can do so in the area it would be a home run I think. I’ll believe it when I see it though.

Reading over Godwin's contract. He's making 395k base (goes up 10k a year), can earn a bunch of bonuses (15k conference title, 10k for making a regional, 20k for hosting, and some tied to player academic performance too), and gets another 60k for fulfilling his marketing duties (assume weekly coaches show and stuff like that).

Assuming now Omaha (bigger bonus) he should make around 480-530k. This would be an easy money whip. Not that there is anything wrong with the ECU job, but it isn't a destination. If we strike before Lsu gets rejected by their top guys (if they do) we can secure him before we have to compete with him for the job.

Woodward isn't going to miss on O'Sullivan. We will probably have to worry about fighting Florida for Godwin if we take too long. I think Schloss is the target, though I would rather other choices

We'll see.

tu missed.

Florida built him a new stadium, gave him a 10-year contract (coach buyout is low) worth 12.5 M (5 years ago), and seems be supporting him.

I did think it was interesting and surprising Godwin had turned down MSU. I think we would get him also but that’s one of the best baseball jobs out there. The relationship with Bjork has to be a huge plus though and makes me think we would win out in the end if competing with another school for him

I have my reservations, but it honestly looks like Schloss may be the pick. I don't think we can get Vitello away from Tennessee

Florida support is NOTHING compared to what LSU would give him, and the fan support at LSU is another level for baseball
