Just like he said there was nothing to worry about with Nelson before banning 1/3 of the posters on the site after they called him out.

Who? What?

I’ve only been a member since 2011 and have only seen 3 people banned in that period

We're looking up at Baylor and Tennessee, fricking Tennessee who just had the second worst month in the history of college football. 80% of the available pool signed yesterday, to spin what went down for us as anything but a huge flop is hilarious.

The Corey Nelson debacle was in 2010.

This is true but the reason for the flop was keeping Sumlin for a lame duck season. I don't blame Jimbo and I think we will still close with a decent class. Unfortunately we don't have our coaching staff in place and the early signing day doesn't help.

Next year we want to see progress on the field (not necessarily in record) and good recruiting for the 2019 class. We are rebuilding. We may have good pieces, but it still starts at the foundation.

Baylor has nine more commits than us, Tennesse has two, and we have more 4 stars than both them. Look at context before posting stuff like that.

And I'm not trying to pump any sunshine, because yesterday was not a great day for us, tu locked up the top 5 players in the state. Our one LB commit seems to be 50/50, at best. We seem to have a few players getting hit up hard by Arkansas to flip, and we are sorely lacking the big guys on the D-line.

I wouldn’t call it a fail yet, if we are still sitting at 28th after Feb 2nd or whatever day it is this year, then I would. We still have a chance to add 3 high 4 stars in Leon, Waddell and Moore and another 4 star in Ossai. Plus whoever else Jimbo is going after.

Damn guys, I don’t even follow recruiting much anymore but took a look at it with all the sky is falling posts on the A&M boards.

We just had a lame duck coach for a season, had another shi**y finish to a season where we collapsed down the stretch, don’t have a complete coaching staff yet, and have only had our new HC for a few weeks. We’re yall really expecting us to blow it out of the water?

I’m hoping Jimbo is a really good coach for us over time but y’all are asking him to perform miracles on day one. This early signing period starting this year hurt bad. In hindsight it’s at a really bad time as this is when coaches are being hired and fired, so the early period is going to hurt any transitioning school. Early signing should be in late summer before the season starts, not an insignificant 6 week’s before the main day.

We might not have a great class this year, let Jimbo get rolling on the 2019 class and then let’s start judging how well he’s doing.

I think most people will be happy with a good finish. We do have some pretty big targets left on the board which gives the new staff room to jump up the rankings in Feburary.

i don't think it's outrage directed at jimbo, but more at the recruiting "insiders."

however, i did sort of expect to get a jimbo "bump" with some recruits, and that hasn't been the case so far. obviously the class isn't complete, so we shall see how it plays out in the end...but saying it's not off to a great start seems fair.

That's reasonable, I think some of the backlash is a direct result of all of the sunshine pumping leading up to Wednesday, it wasn't just the "experts" doing the pumping either. Numbers I've seen show about 80% of the kids signed early nation wide, so now you'll have a lot of schools trying to close out out their classes on a much smaller pool of recruits, that isn't promising in my view.

The 2012 class wasn't exactly impressive either. Both 5 stars signed were busts (a 5 star player that leaves early and isn't drafted is a bust. Period)
