No, it reads like a guy who was let down. Like he got the AD to agree to let them back on some condition, and then the players failed him.
So their fault, as he was trying his best.
Still it would be nice if our entire administration would get over itself and get into SEC mode a little more.

Here comes the obvious question.
With Mastro established at Mike, who starts at Will and Sam?
Baggs at Will and Hilliard at SAM?
Washington at Will and Baggs at SAM?
Washington at Will and Hilliard at SAM?
Other option?

I think Baggs at Will
I tend to agree. Baggs looked completely lost at mike last year, but was a decent backup for Jenkins in 2012.

7-5. We're not losing to any of the nonconference or Arkansas. There's no way we'll go 1-6 vs. the other 7 teams.
We would have gone 6-6 last year without Manziel.

These kids sacrifice their physical and mental health for the university, god forbid they relax with a joint on the weekends.
That being said, they knew the rules and broke them repeatedly. Tough break, fellas. Welcome to the real world.

Claiborne and golden screwed us and screwed themselves but they served their purpose. They both did well enough last year to keep this train on the tracks and we'll move on without them.
I think DL and linebackers will both still be slightly better than the start of last year. I'm looking for a revelation in secondary play. If the safeties play well enough to leave deshazor at corner I think we could look really good back there.

We moved Hilliard to WLB in the spring because the coaches assumed Claiborne was going to screw up again. I was flat told no one expected him to stay out of trouble til the Fall. Claiborne was totally anticipated by the coaching staff.

In all seriousness, are we just cursed on defense?
How many guys have been kicked off the team now on defense? Many of these guys were high potential players. Not to mention suspensions and injuries.
It is unfreaking real how many hits that side of the ball has taken.

Interesting. Care to tell who told you that?

Key position is rush end right now:
2012 - (Damontre Moore) - 85 tackles, 21.0 TFL (12.5 sack), 1 FF, 2 blocked kicks
2013 (Obioha, Hall, Taylor x2) - 84 tackles, 11.5 TFL (2.0 sack), 1 INT
If Myles Garrett is as good as advertised...

I can see that. So who does that make our starter at SAM?

I tend to agree. His biggest problem is weeding through traffic. In space he is okay. He's not extraordinary but he can be competent.
But in the spring Hilliard and Bass played 1st/2nd team at WLB while Baggs ran 2nd team at SLB (behind Washington). I don't think that will change. Tommie Sanders may find a spot at WLB too.
