I thought the Corps has had female commanders for decades?

As long as there isn't a female head drum major.
"Recall, step off on Hullabaloo" doesn't sound right with a female voice.

Next up, female yell leader. I'd like for that to happen just to watch the madness that would ensue on every A&M fan site.

I hope she gets crapped out in the steam tunnels like all the other CC's.

Literally the stupidest "reason" I've ever heard with regard to the subject, I must say

The 5 for Yell mafia won't allow it sadly
. Only Mexican cartels can rival those dudes when it comes to local media control, propaganda, and voter intimidation.

You weren't a BQ or a drum major candidate. Your point is moot.

I don't have to be to swat away a pathetic, chauvinistic talking point

Seriously, "it just won't sound right

Not only does it not sound right, but it doesn't have the same type of tone that can carry across a block of 387+ cadets in a crowded stadium.
Ericka Smith '99 was the first woman to be the Combined Band Commander, and there have been at least 3 I-Band or A-Band woman drum majors in the last 7 years, (side drum major) so that doesn't factor into it.

It can if it is a sexy female British voice

Still a pathetic talking point. Plenty of females can sound off just fine. And, while we're on the subject, plenty of males can't.
If she can do the job competently, then I'd hope that she'd be selected, gender difference be damned.
