Possibly. Like I said... Petrino not on my wish list. If it happens I will not be dissapointed. I will say that Jimbo has a strong personality so someone like Petrino has a chance to actually call the shots on offense.
He won't mind pushing back on Jimbo full force and telling him to go frick himself if it is required.

My question was more in regards to people questioning his character. I get he is an a-hole (which coach isn't?), but I still think he would be a tame hire compared to DJ Durkin's history. All he did was hire his side piece and lie about an accident to protect his lie. Other than that, I don't get the disgust being thrown at him.

Bad news for the "Riley to A&M" crowd

Relatedly, sources close to the TCU program said Riley signed a new contract at TCU and rebuffed a 3-year, $6 million offer from Texas A&M.

So kinda early on it was like they would both be OC's together. But the article I was shown made that rumor disappear.

Pretty certain Fisher doesn't want to give up the offense so dragging feet on this hire. Also beginning to think it might be an NFL coach. Liucci won't talk about two of the candidates.

Multiple places, not just Liucci, have said he will give up control, what is your reasoning/proof that he isnt? I still go back to Fisher has never been in this situation before, yet everybody seems so certain about whats exactly going through his mind. Let's wait and see who he hires and what sort of system/coordinator he really is before we all riot in the streets.

He is being forced to do so - doesn't mean he wants to

He's been calling plays for over 20 years straight, of course he doesn't want to give playcalling up.

This OC search is so quiet. Anyone heard anything new? I saw Andy Ludwig, the OC at Utah's name mentioned yesterday as a possibility but may be someone grasping at straws.

I think we went all in on Riley and now we are taking our time
But won’t be surprised if it’s Petrino

I just can't see the AD, the President of A&M, Chancellor Sharp and the BOR approving the Petrino hire.

If that was the case just bring Sumlin in to OC

Meant to post that in the portal thread

Honestly, I have very little faith that Fisher will make the right hire. He doesn't seem terribly motivated. Good news is that with just an AVERAGE offense we easily win 10 or more games this year.
