ESPN is also forking over gobs of money for the SEC Network and we're the SEC school in the biggest market by far.
Fact is, espn has so many conflicts of interest that they can't even keep them all straight. The idea that care deeply about their connection with Texas (which was a cheap way for them to prevent the cash cow schools of the Big 12 from heading west and joining the Pac12 which is on Fox) is laughable.

When I look at his career, he was successful and highly regarded until he go here, so I don't think he suddenly sucked or the rest was all smoke. We are the outlier, so something was going on here that made him ineffective. Or maybe ineffective isn't the right word... maybe he wasn't really allowed to coach. He could well have been totally handcuffed by other coaches or tried to make changes only to have them rescinded. I tend to think he was a square peg in a round hole here.
Successful? He had 2 winning seasons in 5 years as HC of Wyoming, he then only lasted a year at Utah as OC because he wasn't getting along with the HC and Utah's offense in 2014 was worse than ours was this year.
Maybe he was hancuffed by what Spav was trying to do, but it seems like Mazzone didn't want to keep him either.

Makes me like Mazzone already.

He was good to great on offense at Mizzou.
He was good on offense at Wyoming. His defense sucked.
He wasn't so good at Utah.
He blew chunks here.
Sounds like we hired him on the downswing.

So, the bigger question.
WHO'S HIS REPLACMENT?
WHO'S HIS REPLACMENT?

Idk, but we need a killer recruiter or two, we've lost all of them to other jobs it seems like.

Mazzone's son won't count towards that number

Nope. We have a spot open right now. It needs to be a killer on the recruiting trail, WITH TIES TO THE STATE OF TEXAS!!!

I think that's exactly what Sumlin is going to do. When he first came in he brought too recruiters and his coordinators were supposed to be the X and O guys. He got away from that with Spav but this recruiting season has to have shown him the error here.
I think he has his eye on bringing in two recruiting heavy assistants.

I wouldn't consider any of Wyoming's offense good. They ranked 96,117,53,88 and 41 in total yards during his 5 years. PPG wasn't much better during his time there averaging 64th in the nation in 5 years.
He had some really good offenses for Mizzou for sure, but he hasn't been a part of a good offense since 2008.

That would be great. Definitely need to get Texas locked down again. Seems like Mazzone and chavis can handle out of state, along with whatever other random connections we might have. But getting the connections with the Texas high schools has to be a priority so we don't keep losing people like Malik and jones

And that could have just been Pinkel who also did it without DC.

WHO'S HIS REPLACEMENT?
I'm sure one of the first names would be Adrian Klemm.
I would hope Sumlin already has someone lined up.

If we get him, we still need another. He'd be awesome for sure, but we need a guy with deep roots in Texas.

Should have got Brick when he had the chance and kicked Hagen to the curb.
Posted on 2/4/16 at 12:21 pm to WRTC
I don't know why everyone is so high on him. He's terrible. LSU fans are 100% right about brick he caused a depth issue at dline for them.
We can do better

Yes, thank you. Knew I was going blank on someone
