I am assuming KA starts the season, has anyone heard anything conflicting with that statement?

Nope. I feel like it is Allen's to lose, and KM would have to put on an absolute show to get the start against ASU.

I give KM about a 10% chance of winning the job. 89% KA. 1% other.

I would say there is less than a 1% chance that both Allen and Murray are out with injury for the Arizona State game.

Zero

Unless Allen falls and breaks his leg

So I guess it's .01%

But I believe he will get playing time

Kyle Allen is in a great place but he's certainly not above being beaten out.

I think Kyle will probably be the starter and we'll use Kyler in packages.

I fully expect Allen to start all season. Only way Murray takes meaningful snaps this year IMO is if they put some package in for him

It's Allen's job. Sumlin even said that unlike other seasons he's not calling the QB spot "anyone's for the taking" this fall - he said that after his Bowl Game performace it's Allen's position. Could Allen fall off and become a raging drunk like Hill? Sure. Could he get hurt? Certainly. But assuming he stays off of drugs and follows most laws and doesn't get hurt, Murray won't start.

I mean Kyle has the head start, and I'm not sure he could really lose it in practice. Half of Kyler's game is his mobility, and that can't be seen until real games, much like Manziel. I doubt Kyler beats out Kyle with just his arm. Kyle has an NFL arm, and Kyler honestly just doesn't have that.

I'm rooting for Kyle to light the word on fire and get NFL hype because that way it'll be obvious he leaves early, and Kyler knows he has two years.

The one thing that makes me really comfortable with Kyler is Sumlin having had Manziel first, and not being afraid to unleash him in this offense from the get go.

Agree. I'm kind of worried about Kyler though. He could start just about anywhere else. At places that could compete for ships right now if he was their starter coming into the season. Kyle will be phenomenal this season and I just hope Kyler has patience to wait on his turn at aggieland if he doesn't beat out Kyle this spring (5% chance that happens btw).

Infinitesimal. The job is KA's, barring catastrophe.

If Murray's starting, we're in trouble of some sort (and don't get me wrong, I love Kyler).

Allen's great and I'm excited for what he will accomplish.......but I wish I had a time machine to go forward and watch Kyler win us back to back championships in 17' & 18' cause I cannot wait.

Yeah KA.

Sadly I feel like there's zero chance of both of these guys playing out their eligibility, or playing until they get drafted, at a&m.

I just don't see Murray waiting around for his turn if Kyle Allen lights the world on fire, and if Murray happens to beat out Allen at some point this year or next Allen is obviously gone. It kind of sucks we have both of them so close together.

But we could have neither, which would be worse.

I don't see it. Kyler is young and small, but also smart and his dad knows what's best for him. I don't see them pushing or pressuring any sooner than 2017. At which time I hope Allen is heading to the NFL after his jr year because he is a 1st round lock
