Well, as much as I hate to break it to y’all but…… you do realize we aren’t at their level right?

Farmer brought them up, so I was just responding.

I think the bar is 'don't have QB play so bad that it ruins a season'

Georgia, a school you mentioned, doesn't have an issue clearing this bar. Alabama, another school you mentioned, doesn't have an issue clearing this bar.

Jimbo often has an issue clearing this bar.

When is the last time either lost their QB1 in game 2 for the season?

Bama lost Tua midway thru 2019. Mac came in and lost 2 of their final 4 games. They didn't even make an NY6 Bowl.

I'd argue they're still had a good season, but 95% of teams losing QB1 are going to run into issues.

We played an all sec schedule that year and had to play an extra 2 teams out of the east, which included Florida who was still good at the time

Yeah all those tough games against... checks notes...

a terrible Vandy, a terrible Miss St, a terrible SCAR, terrible Arky, a terrible Tenner, a bad Auburn, a bad LSU, and a Florida team lost Pitts for the second half and lost every time he couldn't go. We ended up not having to play Ole Miss who was a terrible matchup for us and Bama beat the shite out of us.

I'm not sure why some of y'all can't admit that bad old all SEC schedule was tough in name only. LSU, Auburn, Vandy, SCAR, and Tenner all fired their coaches and Pig/Moo both had first year HCs who took over terrible squads. It was an easy schedule. I'll give Jimbo that he beat all those bad teams but they were still bad teams. It wasn't an impressive achievement. He should be expected to beat bad teams. The only nice win was vs Florida and again, once they lost Pitts their offense took a big step back.

Terrible example that gets the facts wrong. Tua played the entire game in the loss to LSU.

And tell me that you're not saying Mac Jones going 26/39, (67%), 335 yds, 4 TD /2 INT is the reason Alabama lost to Auburn, instead of Alabama's defense giving up 48 pts. If anything, that just illustrates how a good team that recruits depth can withstand an injury.

In a normal year where they pad their stats with OOC and not extra SEC games where someone has to lose, you'd have a very different opinion.

I was going off memory. Regardless, Mac played well but also blew it. Mac threw 2 pick 6s and Bama was upset eliminating them from any playoff discussion.

Hopefully 2021 is the last time we have any QB problems worth fretting over

No I wouldn’t. They would have all still been mediocre to terrible. Picking up a couple wins against G5s and FCS teams would not have changed anything. Moo and Pig would have still been breaking in new systems w/new coaches and all those others would have still fired their HCs.

And Zach's season is over due to injury. Unfortunate for him because the starter also suffered injury and the first guy off the bench was terrible, probably had a good shot at getting some more SEC snaps.
