I liked his poise. He was a bit inaccurate on some throws that would have lead to TD’s but he didn’t look rattled out there.

Not to defend him but the OL was in shambles. Granted we had injuries that lead to a lot of that I’m sure but they did him no favors back there. That being said I’m sure there’s some throws he’d like back

Well… that was… a win I guess.

Before all the moral victories start (“that’s a veteran team with a lot of 5th and 6th year covid seniors”. “They played Penn St close”, etc) a good team with a good scheme still beats that team easily by 3 scores with our talent level, not wins a nail biter. Our offense still isn’t great, I was really hoping Klein would’ve made bigger improvements to what we’ve got out there.

Defense has taken a step back, I know we are thin at DB in particular, but man do they look lost most of the games. That int at the end was really a bad thrown ball to a dude that was wide open and probably scores if the QB doesnt air-mail it. Tackling still not good and we don’t set an edge well at all.

Marcel is much more comfortable navigating the pocket compared to Connor, there’s no doubt about that. But he needs to improve accuracy as he’s more of a run threat than a pass threat right now. Finally had Noah wide open down the seam in the middle, he’s gotta make that throw.

I just don’t get it, you’ve got to throw the deep ball and take your chances sometimes. I hate to say it, but if you watch Utrans Their oline isn’t very good So what do they do? They risk the three in out On a regular basis by chucking up a couple deep balls, Archie isn’t spectacularly accurate, but the receivers are making plays, this is how Kiffin has built his entire career as well

All of this. ^

There was also that little 2nd down swing pass to Amari that Marcel threw badly. It was a great call and looked like it would’ve gone for a TD.

Marcel has a lot of tools and I really like his instincts. When the game starts slowing down for him a bit, he has a chance to be very good, IMHO.

At this point I hope we stick with Reed and just allow him to continue to develop this year. There will be growing pains as we saw last night but I think he’s play making upside is undeniable

At least we got out of there with the win but man the schedule gets tough moving forward

Does it? As of today, I think we'd favored in every game between now and Texas Thanksgiving weekend. Two best opponents (Mizzou, LSU) are far from playing great football and both come to Kyle (where we obviously are playing like shite at the moment, gotta get that fixed).

Road game at South Carolina could be tricky, but it's a joke that that's our hardest road game.

It's a "rebuilding" year, but Elko got handed a gift of a schedule, and we really don't have the luxury of letting him squander it. The loss to ND has erased all margin for error, and I don't think they have the team playing well enough to remain error-free through T-Day

The way our defense looks I’m not putting my money on us vs Mizzou or LSU regardless of how they’ve looked

Reed is highly inaccurate. I guess we will see what staff decides to do. Enjoy the week and next weekend’s game against Arkansas. I’m out for a week and a half.

A win is a win. Style points don’t matter unless you are in the T15 later in the season.

A little too run happy. Not close on the deep balls, but I am glad he took shots. Looked like a freshman. Not sharp at all. Not ready to jump ship just yet.
