Playing a series with t.u. is foolish. This "nut up or shut up" talk is also foolish. We'll play 'em in the postseason if we're matched up. Nothing beyond that is absolutely necessary. I don't give a rip about the overall series count or feeding our own egos by saying "SEE, WE'RE NOT AFRAID!!!" when we damn sure should be concerned about getting back in bed with these snakes.

Let 'em wallow in the conference they tried so hard to destroy and are now stuck with. We have bigger fish to fry, and if we happen to meet them in the playoffs, they THEY better "nut up," because a TAMU team good enough to play for it all will beat them into next century.

^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^

I've stayed clear of this conversation but now T-Bird has gone and typed my EXACT thoughts. The arrogant fricks can wallow in their self created misery. They tried to destroy the big 12 and blamed it on us, they stalk everything to do with A&M. If we never play them again it will be too soon for me. THEY ARE POISON! How can people have short term memories about this fact?

Yes you are scared.

No, no I am not. If I was scared, aka an EMOTIONAL response to it all, from the start I would have been against it. But in this thread I obviously had my mind changed, because unlike all of you I am looking at this as a CALCULATED decision.

Am I "scared" to buy Blackberry stock? Or am I "scared" to setup a business in Detroit? No, that is not called "scared," that is called a smart decision. I just typed like 5000 words in this thread to prove that I am not "scared," I am arguing for the smart decision. If you can't even recognize the nature of my argument, let alone my point, then you obviously are the one who is only going to hear what he wants to hear.

It is all of YOU who want to make the emotional decision, and aren't really thinking in terms of recruits or brand equities or even "the deserving common football fan in Texas." Bottom line all of you just want to beat a team that EMOTIONALLY you want to beat, and you are letting years of the (I will say it, yall drove me to say it) Aggie community's integrated inferiority complex drive your decision.

I mean, DID YALL NEVER WATCH ANY OF THE BACK TO THE FUTURE MOVIES?

Chip Brown/Texas is trying to play the role of Biff, and yall are just too damn willing to jump in front of a bullet or a moving vehicle.

So, in honor of everyone's not getting it I have shopped an image that basically is my entire argument in a nutshell:

Drunk Redneck: Hey you little shite! Nobody bumps into me at a packed bar! Ima fight your arse!

Fearless Me: Sorry sir, I've run the numbers and my calculations say I'm scared of losing and looking like a fool so I must regretfully decline the invite as my pride cannot sustain such a knock to my nuts.

and at the "Well if we're matched in a bowl that's when we'll play" poop you guys are hiding behind when you are simultaneously hoping the SEC will aid us in playing anyone but the sips.

What does this have to do with anything? Bowls aren't bars, they are business deals.

Actually thank you for throwing that out there. I appreciate it, because I have learned over the years that when Old Army throws out an irrelevant blue collar allegory to explain their position I have hit the point of irreconcilable narratives.

So I will just leave it at I think its a bad idea to play them. You think its a good idea and in the end none of our opinions matter.

And I will ask as a personal favor to you RC, along with everyone who is arguing to play Texas in this thread, to pretty please participate in my Junction Boys thread this offseason. If I could even come close to understanding this whole blue collar bravado that is at the core of Aggiedom then every interaction with my in-laws and half of my clients would get a lot easier. Thank you in advance.

I'm amused that I'm getting lumped in with Old Army when I'm in the murky mire somewhere between Gen X and Millennials.

But hey, maybe it's b/c I'm from East Texas and it takes a little while longer for change there.

"Old Army". Doesn't want to play those jerk offs. Don't lump us all together. My good buddy who's Class of 1960 would break his old foot off in your arse if you said we should play them again in his presence

He believes LSU and Arky are way better rivalries with better fan bases to interact with...and I agree

Honestly RC I have always seen your perspective as some sort of midway point. In many cases you have the New Army priorities, but unlike me you can actually understand (and maybe sometimes agree with) the Old Army thinking. New Army/Old Army is less an age and more a philosophy IMHO. There is some dude today in the corps, who is like a 5th gen, who is as Old Army as anyone has ever been the way I see it. I could be wrong though, and I would appreciate a correction.

I am jelly honestly, I wish I could get this perspective sometimes. I think just being able to conceive the reasons Old Army had for doing things would fill in a lot of gaps for me. That is why I am almost excited about the offseason on this board, even though deep down I am scared I am a little too corndog to ever truly understand.

Thanks for the compliment.

And if I am wrong about Old Army/New Army please correct me. I prefer to use proper nomenclature so please give another term. The Traditionalists? The Saw-em-offs?

Every SEC fanbase is. I would rather the MOO Cows than sips. At least the cows care about the game.

If old army thinking = that aggy past...well, then I'm more than happy to let new army lead the way.

If there was any Army left in America (Texas AMC notwithstanding and/or not to even be considered) then this would be a totally different planet.

It's not. It's this planet.

The bleeding hearts ARE GOING TO OUTLAW HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL over the next FIVE (5) years.

White people evolved so much they found their way back to stoopid.

is without rival

THE STOOPIDEST act yet presented.

...Utilize "[KNOWN] UNIVERSE" in place of "world" and then enlighten us with an historical STOOPIDER.
