Totally agree. I just think it should be between a 5-12 seed, and not between the right and wrong side of the bubble.

yeah, seems like we're on the same page but I'm just thinking that range is larger and we could break thru on the top or bottom end. I'd probably go 3-NIT

A 3-seed wouldn't be an absurd result. This team is insanely talented at this point and not exactly inexperienced, considering the caliber of our best recruits. Top 30 guys like DJ and Tyler are supposed to be stars by their SO yr and top 100 guys like Admon and Kobie should be starting at that same age.
And an NIT appearance is definitely possible. I don't think we're a 100% lock to make the tournament, but outside of a major injury to Tyler or Admon, that's just feels like a bad year and a 5th time in 6 yrs that the program would have underachieved. Each individual year is explainable, to an extent, but big picture, it's not something we should be ok with.

I'm flattered yall remember me. I've been so busy with moving and the new job I haven't been on in a while. I miss you all.
I'm not personally familiar with chew but his resume is one of the top in the country for an assistant coach. If he was instrumental in pressey, English, and Canaan then our guard play should be in good hands.

Still qualification issues for Caldwell. And we're looking at another PG for the 2016 class.

Somebody said we got Caleb Smith today. I tried to research him and only found this right up by a poster on the Arkansas site. Sounds pretty impressive.

Senior ***** Offline Posts: 633 Basketball recruit Caleb Smith « on: March 15, 2015, 09:41:32 pm » Just got back from the State basketball tournament in San Antonio Tx. There is a player I would like for the Hogs to take a look at. He will be a Sr next year at Bridgeport HS. I have watched him play a dozen times this year and he is the best player I've seen in the county in 25 years. He was just named Class 4 A MVP at the state tournament. He is a 6'1 pt guard that can literally do anything on the court. He is a tremendous scorer, passer, ball handler, and rebounder. He may be the best rebounding guard in the state of Texas. He averaged 25 + pts and about 10 rebounds in the semifinal and final while winning the MVP award. He is a big time player who had been home schooled until this year so he's not well known YET.His team did win the Prime Time national tournament last summer. After this weekend he will be flooded with offers. I do know Tim Floyd and UTEP has been interested for a while. Can someone pass this info along to our recruiting coordinator ? Maybe Richard Davenport? This guy is a straight up baller that I am convinced is a big time prospect and a good kid. A&M's big recruit that is a top 50 national player from Dallas Madison had 2 pts at half after being guarded by this kid.(He did end up with 25 but most of those shots were 4 feet behind the arc off screens)…Someone feel free to pass this info along to the right people

Meant to upvote but sounds like him and Admon have a good relationship lol. From that post it sounds like he's a good player. I'll see what I can find on him

There's almost nothing out there on him

TA write up on Caleb: LINK

The left-handed point guard and his housemates dominated the 4A competition through the regular season and easily advanced to the state tournament in San Antonio to face Admon Gilder and the powerhouse Dallas Madison squad that had been a fixture at the state tourney for several years.
Smith matched Gilder point-for-point, scoring 25 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and making 9-of-11 free throws down the stretch to hold off Madison, 68-60. Gilder finished with 27 points.

Haven't had a guy like him on our team since DeAndre. Should be a lot of fun watching him
Posted on 6/28/16 at 2:14 am to NanosTacoRun
DeAndre is a better comparison. Will be more fun watching him though knowing he is only needed to be tyler davis' backup

Agree. And he will likely take his time in college more seriously than DJ.

Stansbury just got a 5-star Center (former A&M commit Mitchell Robinson) to commit to freaking Western Kentucky.
Really gonna miss that guy.
