A week before the season starts you opt out to go make a difference in the community...kinda selfish towards the team IMO. I wonder what he's going to do for these months in the community. Not saying hes not going to do good things but what exactly is Hines going to do with his time? It all doesn't make sense.

Pretty sure his community is Plano...a wealthy mid city of Dallas.

Hines is too light for the SEC, IMO. I'm pretty sure we will be fine. It is a shame, because he could have been great if applied himself

If he is going to quit on the team, why wait until a week before the season starts? Curious how he plans to make a difference in his community.

mid city

Plano is north of Dallas, not mid-cities (between Dallas and Ft Worth)

Which is it?

Could have applied himself in the weight room as well as on the field. It isn't that hard for a football player to gain 10-20 lbs with all of the "medicines" these days

lol ok I get called a 2%er for questioning someone's decision...unbelievable ?? If you've been apart of any team you'd know that quiting a week before a season starts is selfish.

Leon’s tweet about “finding out who really loves ball” is pretty telling. Guys like Hines aren’t going to be well thought of in any locker room for quitting. Whether it’s true he was getting passed up or not, walking out now is a crap move to pull on your teammates. And I doubt it’s for the reason of “making a difference in the community”.

I don't follow this stuff as closely as most of you. Is this a protest thing? Is he joining the cause of the protests? And in opting out is he quitting the team or taking a sabbatical and perhaps opting in later? Is he NFL material?
