A&M in 2020 is in a much better place than A&M in 2006. leach will absolutely be a thorn in our side, but im not worried about MSU being a year to year competitor with us at all. in the slightest

We are only 4-4 vs MSU since joining with two of those wins b/c we had Manziel and you think he isn't going to be a problem year in and year out?

May as well be posting on TexAgs with that kind of unearned arrogance.

B/c he already took a school out in BFE with far less resources and beat us nearly twice the time. I really don't understand why you think he can't do it again.

If you think A&M now is the same as A&M in the early to mid 2000s sure. And if you do Mike Leach is the least of our problems

Because we’re going to be losing to Kiffin, Pittman, Muschamp etc a fair amount too and never beating the elite teams

if you cant see the difference between our program and coaching staff from right now and anything we had under fran, sherman, or sumlin then idk what to tell you. we just arent going to lose to MSU regularly going forward

Lord Jimbo lost to Moo and Joe Moorhead just last year. You guys have a massively inflated opinion of where we are at.

Do you think Leach goes 8-5(4-4) next year?

Maybe, maybe not. We don't know those guys ceilings. They may very well be the next Rhule or Riley. We know what Leach is. He's going to have a severe talent deficiency. He's going to bring an offense that is known. He's not going to be able to field a great defense.

He is 100% capable of beating us, but how he faired vs RC and Fran 15 years ago has nothing to do with what he'll do vs us & Jimbo moving forward.

As for Mullen, I'd argue he's better than Leach. he also found a way to get legit high level NFL talent to MSU (Cox, Slay, McKinney, Dak, Sweat, Rankin, and probably more). Those players aren't walking through the door again.

4 scrimmages. 4-0.
Saturday Sept. 5: at home vs. New Mexico W
Saturday Sept. 12: on the road against North Carolina State W
Saturday Sept. 26: at home versus Tulane W
Saturday Nov. 21: at home versus Alabama A&M W

4 vs the worst of the SECW. Probably 2-0 here, maybe 1-1.
Saturday Sept. 19: at home versus Arkansas
Thursday Nov. 26: on the road against Ole Miss

Not UF or UGA, but not terrible. I'll say 1-1.
Saturday Nov. 7: at home versus Missouri
Saturday Nov. 14: on the road against Kentucky

0fers here.
Saturday Oct. 3: at home versus Texas A&M
Saturday Oct. 17: on the road against Alabama
Saturday Oct. 24 on the road against LSU
Saturday Oct. 31: at home versus Auburn

My vote is 7-5 (3-5) with 6-6 (2-6) the next most likely.

I think NC State could be somewhat tough (at least more than a scrimmage) but 2-6 or 3-5 seems right in the SEC. They absolutely need a transfer QB and I’m sure will get one, will be interesting to see who

You're right. I just skimmed it and was thinking South Carolina State, not the Wolfpack.

So 6-6 is probably the most likely with 5-7 not too unlikely.

No, I'm saying that Jimbo hasn't come in and beat the shite out of the supposed lesser teams the way you guys are acting and Leach is a hell of a lot better than a guy who just got canned after two years who Jimbo just went 1-1 against.

Miss St is going to be a tough game every year with Leach at the helm. State is going to be a hell of a lot easier for him to get players than it was at Wazzu or Tech. Pretending that we don't need to worry about Moo is just plain stupid.

But hey, if you want to get cocky and wag your dicks all over tRant be my guest. Just don;t be shocked if it blows up in your faces yet again.

Who knows what Moorhead would have done going forward, probably steadily worse, but going 8-5 and 6-7 is historically what Leach has done for like 20 years. It’s probably what he’s gonna do at MSU. We’re either going to improve above what we’ve been the past two years to where we regularly beat them, or we won’t and it wouldn’t have mattered who was coaching at MSU

When compared to Wazzu and Tech? Yeah he should be able to get better players, but she's shown he's not a great recruiter. He's going to be an at a severe talent deficiency to us, Auburn, Lsu, Alabama, and on the occasion, he plays UF & UGA. He'll probably be looking yup at Ole Miss too, maybe even Arkansas.

The only OC we had who called games like Leach was Kingsbury.

And several teams who have run the air raid vs. traditional SEC teams have found very little success. Even the 11-2 2008 Texas Tech team couldn't beat Ole Miss that year.

Kingsbury had a once in a lifetime talent in Johnny and he still lost to Florida and LSU. I'm not seeing a Manziel-like QB walking into Starkville anytime soon. And even if Leach were to find Manziel 2.0, I don't think he would start him. He's a pocket passer kind of guy.
